Hi. I just bought a 1993 j30t and i have a problem with the hicas system.
The right dust boot on the power cylinder is ripped, and I have a leak. The mechanic told me that I need to replace the whole system, which costs around 650$.
Any suggestions.
Where can i find a mechanic in Denver that can handle infiniti?

As for mechanic, try locating a Nissan 300zx club in the Denver area and contacting one of their senior members. Let them know your looking for a reliable, trustworthy 300zx mechanic. The HICAS system on the 300zx is identical to the J30t system.

I had a slow leak and a torn boot on the passenger side of my steering rack. When I removed the old boot I saw the rod was dirty. I cleaned it up real good and installed the new boot. Surprisingly the leak got much slower, I still have to add fluid, but now maybe once every two or three months instead of once a month like before. I figure the dirt may have kept the seal at the end of the rack from sealing properly. I figure adding a quarter cup of fluid every three months is a lot cheaper than putting in a new rack, and think of it as continuously changing the fluid so I always have fresh stuff in the reservoir.
