HICAS power steering

Ok, so whats the consensus on whether or not you can use a HICAS CA p/s pump on a non-HICAS car? I'd much rather just use a non-HICAS pump, but they seem hard to come by. Can I use a FWD pump? I know they are on opposite sides of the motor, but maybe they mount the same? Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks!

I have a hicas pump on my CA in my non hicas coupe.

You just have to put a bolt in the 2nd housing outlet and remove the fins from the 2nd housing so pressure doesnt build up.

My sr pump is the same way. Unbolt the back, and you will see a whole bunch of little metal squares. Take them all out. Then plug up the outlet and you are god to go.

And what about the bigger diameter resivoir opening on that pump? did you just use the HICAS resivoir?

I used my stock resevoir with a reducer piece for the hoses. Available at you local home depot, ace hardware or plumbing store.

who needs PS i dont and my car drives great....not hard to turn at all....although i am not a small guy that might have something to do with it
