I have a 1994 Infinity J30T and I have a Power Steering Fluid leak where the line meets the Fail Safe Valve. The line is rotted for about 3 inches. This is the line that goes over the axel and connects to the Rear Steering Rack. My Infinity dealer says the line is no longer available and I have to get one manufactured and oh by the way we have to leave your car on the hoist while you get this made at $100 per hour. They say it is a minimum 8 hour job to drop the rear sub frame to get at the line and do the repair. This assumes they don't break anything else in the process. So it will cost a minimum $1,000 to $1,500 plus the possibility of them having to replace the Fail Safe Valve if they can't work with it and any other issues that arise from this pain in the *** system.

I saw mention of a kit that can bypass the HICAS system. Does anybody actually know where to get this kit and will it lock the rear wheels?

Does anyone have a better remedy to this problem?

Thanks in advance
