My car has no power steering belt. No belt, no pump, no brackets, looped-back hoses and one goofy guy behind the wheel that thinks that's how it should be.

Hicas is the rear steering. Its powered though the power steering. So... no belt...no work...no light....

Another question, in case its not just a belt. Is the rear HICAS rack on the car?

look under the car. There would be a steering rack that runs across the diff cover. It looks just like a regular steering rack that steers the front wheels.

And I steer through will and muscle strength. My RS still has power steering but only because I won't butcher that car. my old Skyline, my 180 and my truck all steered by pure omph. Parallel parking sucks to be sure but the feedback I get underway is really good and the drag on the motor and weight are more detrimental in my opinion than the mechanical advantage for the slow speed maneuvering.

I would not recommend doing it on a HICAS car. It's a whole different setup with four wheel steering and it could be dangerous.

The belt is the best place to start.
