I Have a 94 infinity j-3o

We keept having the hicas light to come on to find out we had a small leak in the power steering.

So we got the power steering pump replaced, at the same time we had to get the tie rods replaced as well.

got the car back runs great BUT

when it gets real hot the hicas light comes back on.

like if i am on a hwy and not stoping at all 20 minutes into the drive the light comes on.

help please

Welcome to Nico!!!

Your power steering fluid. Is it low in the reservoir?

Some times low levels of power steering fluid (or too much moisture) in old fluid can set it off. The solution is to top up power steering fluid or replace old fluid with new stuff.

THANK YOU FOR the welcome.

No it is not low. I keep a close check on it.

The light never comes on in town. Where I live there is a light or stop sgin every 3 feet all most.

it when I hit a highway and going a good ways and no stops.

THe place where i had the powersteering pump put on at has no clue why it doing this. He first tought the new pump was bad, so he put a diffrent one on. And it is still doing this.

The float sensor that tells the car if the fluid level is low could be bad.

Quick question belle. Have you checked the ECU to make sure it isn't in fact a HICAS problem with the system? If it is, the ECU should throw a trouble code. The method for extracting the trouble code is one of the "stuck" items in the J30 forum.
