Well ever since I put my Q back together after the 1st attempt at the 5 speed the HICAS hasnt been working...

The light comes on after you start moving and have turned the steering wheel like 1/4 in either direction.. HICAS worked fine before tearing things apart.

The only thing I can see that changed is that I dont have a parking brake in there anymore, and there is an input for the parking brake switch. I wouldnt think that would matter, unless its looking for a resistance value. Its a single pin connector, and the parking brake light comes on when its grounded, so I'd think that leaving it unplugged would just make it think the parking brake is disengaged all the time, thus working fine..

Any ideas? Ive never gotten the HICAS self diagnosis to work, and Ive tried.

Dont know about that one, but alot of the 300zxturbo owners use to purchase a kit designed to eliminate the hicas, they claimed much better handling feel without it.

none of that should have been messed with. THe steering wheel never came out, and all the connectors in that cluster under the steering column were plugged in.

I thought one always checked fluid level first, cavitation second, and pressure sensor last?

Don't have any experience with HICAS, though.

Good luck and let us know when you get it repaired.

Read the fault codes per FSM. The reason for the light!

Wes, I bet your going nuts because of the bad consult port. If that was working you could find out the codes easily.
