OK, after way too long, i finally get my sr running, i am short a silicone coupling, but i fixed that problem with some duct tape, and it runs pretty decent. I was happy. Then as is usual for my car something went wrong. Power steering fluid started leaking all over(this was after like 30 seconds of running mind you) I checked all the hoses and it appears to be the pump. I have a HICAS pump with one side plugged. I was told this would work... Does anyone have any info on SR HICAS pumps in non-hicas cars? Or is my pump just shot, it seems like the fluid is shooting out of the bottom of the pump, towards the driver side fender(thats what my dad says) we can't find the problem yet though, and i was hoping there might for once, be an easty solution before i take the whole pump off. Thanks, and sorry for the slightly long post/vent,

Try this...The pump is a demand pump and it has vanes that extend outward when the rotation speed hits a predetermined rpm. The rear of the pump has about 10 or so of these vanes in it. To deactivate the rear portion of the pump, remove the 3 or four bolts that hold the back cover of the pump on. When you open it up, you will see small 1/4"x1/4" square pieces of metal along the circumfrance of a round disc - these are the vanes. Simply pull the vanes all out and reassemble. You have now made it a non pressure side of the pump. This should take care of your problem.

No problem. A good friend of mine gave me the gouge on this setup. For being a pilot, he is relatively smart...
