It doesn't affect your suspension choices. That stupid affix you see when ordering parts (i.e. Excludes HICAS electric suspension) doesn't apply to 240's, that applies to other models like the Q45 that had the HICAS and also special electric shocks. You can use whatever strut/shock/coilover combo you want.
The only way I know it could complicate your SR swap is if you still intend for the system to be functional after the swap is complete (which I do) in which case you need to procure an SR pump for the system and hook the lines back up. I'm not aware of any ECU or processor changes that need to be made, I would assume it's freely interchangable between the two motors since it was an option on the JDM models concurrently. Heavy Throttle and PDM Racing have SR-swapped HICAS cars completed, I plan on finding out more info soon.
You hear a lot of people bad-mouthing HICAS, and most of them have never even driven a car with it, so their opinions are dubious at best. Personally, I like it. Nor do I feel its effect is really great enough to disrupt the handling of the car while drifting - the system only corrects in the beginning of the turn, if you start going sideways it goes back to null setting, so it's a non-factor anyway. It's more the shift in phasing that I think disturbs people, because in mid-speed turns, it will steer AWAY from the turn and then INTO the turn, and people get freaked when their rear wheels turn out of phase with the fronts. But that's how it is supposed to work. I really think it's a matter of preference and some folks are just control freaks.
