fyi, there is a long thread on the uk forum on a 396hp CA done on shabby tuning, stock motor. Some good info in it.Interesting the guy claimed his stock injectors tested 336cc at the rated pressure.
Just a comment on design___________________________________>>"I have yet to see anything that backs up CA people's claims that RB's were designed off of them. "--------------------------------If the iron block, timing belt, cas, etc... doesn't tip u off? I've had a CA, VG AND RB head on a workbench at the garage at the same time. If I lined 'em up, covered the heads with plywood, leaving only the 2 front cylinders exposed, you would not be able to tell the difference. Its usually the clueless SR idiots that are in denial about this one....
a comment on hi-po CAs
There was a japanese web site (in english) that featured lots of s13s, ca and sr powered, listed mods too - anybody have a link? Most ran 10s. Some 1.8L CAs were faster than stroked 2.2L SRs... so u see, it all depends on combination and tuning.
If I was after I stupid fast, full wt. s13 street car, I wouldn't waste my time with either. Consider a VG30, single or twin cam. I rode in a vg30dett powered s13 beast that would wipe out most 4cyl, even b4 upgrades. Thing wasn't 'fast', it was da.m violent! No 4 can match the smoothness or the 500+ ft-lbs of effortless torque it could make across a broad street-friendly range. Car was surprisingly cheap to build also. Its all about the choices u make.
just thought this info might be of some use
