Hi, sold my FX and Murano now an EX

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Recently sold my 03 FX Tech for a 07 MDX Elite and yesterday sold my 03 Murano SE and get an 08 EX Journey/Premium. What a different, so luxury yet powerful but a bit clamp. Love it :mike

Just can't stay away from Nissan. I was going with a FJ Cruiser but change my mind last minute. The FJ is too raw but fun, EX luxury and fast.

Yeah the EX is Infiniti's "fly below the radar" unsung hero. I've never known anyone that has owned one and not been thoroughly pleased.

Hello FXist,
Drive/handling-wise, how do you compare the MDX compared to both the FX and, especially, the EX? I love my EX but was curious about the SH-AWD in the MDX. I test drove the RDX in 2010 with the SH-AWD and liked how it handled around corners, but did not like the "space ship" cockpit and the front wheel drive biased AWD. Plus the EX is so much more luxurious to I selected the EX.

Thanks
Ice

I had an RDX for 4 years and traded her for the EX. (also had a 2008 MDX for a couple years) As it relates to the SH-AWD, it is simply amazing. BUT - the only time you ever feel it (on dry pavement) is if you have the thing floored around a corner. Otherwise, it really isn't engaging. I also felt the SH-AWD in the RDX much more than the MDX....
I am sure it would be great in the snow... It was fantastic in the rain for sure.
But it was just to 'bumpy' for my wife and she complained about the harsh ride constantly... I traded it for the EX and am pretty happy I did. I miss a few things, (paddle shifters, ELS stereo, much more little storage areas) but the trade off was worth it for the looks, seats, power, mpg, etc.

Welcome!!

MDX is more like a big rig, handling, power are great especially the torque. SH are amazing, even with the size of this MDX it's handle exceptionally but the power stay on the front 80% of the time, but when you take corner this car stick on the pavement like glue. For the FX and EX both are rear wheel AWD , they are so much different from the MDX. EX drives like a car and got so much power compare to the FX. fX drives higher from the ground and sound amazing when you floor it. my murano, good but not great drives like a FWD cuv. I like all of them and for space and hauling none of them an handle and drive like the MDX. For fun of course we can't be wrong with either FX or EX.
