first of all.... to all of you. u guys have the hottest cars.

i'm posting this at work so i dont have pics of my car in this pc. its a 2.5 dark slate 6mt. i will upload pics later but i'm sure you already know what it looks like. so far i have added 6k hids, 35/26 tints, and waiting on a g35 spoiler. the rest is all stock. yeah i know..... these mods are so newb compared to what u guys got.

anyways, i'm a total newb when it comes to modding cars and was hoping u can help me out and answer a few questions i have in mind.1. which exhaust can i get that sounds like the g35's2. i have the basic sound system, so is it possible to equip one of those poineer nav+sound systems that i saw in some of your car's? if so, which one will work best? (the cheaper the better)3. i'm located in boston, MA (yeah, snow kingdom, but i luv snowboarding). would u suggest i lower my car?4. which rims(17" or 18") and tires would look really good on my ride? (cheapest but still looks good) would you be so kind to post a pic and link for them?

thanks again. sorry for the long post.

to you guys.

None of our exhausts sound like the G35. The sound is made from the engine not the exhaust.

You can definitely get a headunit if that's what you're asking. Which is best is going to depend on your personal preference.

If you're upgrading wheels, I would not suggest 17. If you get a lot of snow I would say 18 would be your best bet. However 18's still look real small in our wheel well. I'm opting for 19s

And Welcome to the forum

Welcome Eddy!

1. which exhaust can i get that sounds like the g35'sNot possible. Can't really make a 2.5 sound like a 3.5, now can we? Since the 2.5 has pretty big displacement for a four-banger, it sounds pretty deep no matter what exhaust you put on.

2. i have the basic sound system, so is it possible to equip one of those poineer nav+sound systems that i saw in some of your car's? if so, which one will work best? (the cheaper the better)You can put any aftermarket deck into any vehicle......I got my F700bt pretty cheap since the F-series is on its way out. You might want to check into that.

3. i'm located in boston, MA (yeah, snow kingdom, but i luv snowboarding). would u suggest i lower my car?I live in the Canadian prairies, so we're probably about on par for snowfall. Lowering the car with standard springs will be mostly fine. As long as you maintain a stock tire height or larger, you'll only become a snowplow during the biggest dumps of snow. I wouldn't suggest coilovers though.

4. which rims(17" or 18") and tires would look really good on my ride? (cheapest but still looks good) would you be so kind to post a pic and link for them?Check out the tires & rims section of the forums.Personally, I wouldn't bother with anything smaller than 18's. Period.

thanks.

as for the exhaust question, gee... i'm a noob. i always thought it was the exhaust that made that kinda of noise. hey, u learn something new everyday

regarding the head unit, would i have to cut like a piece out of the stock plastic to fit in the navy? or i would have to buy that part from nissan?

i'm very tight on budget, dont think 19s will fit in my budget. where can i find some cheap 18s?

The exhaust controls the noise...that's why they call that big round thing at the end of it all a "muffler"........ It's your engine that actually makes the noise. That being said, even the Alti 3.5 and the G35 3.5 sound different simply because of how they're tuned. But hey, never feel bad for asking a question! It's the best way to learn!

As for the trim around the headunit, you'll have to purchase the trim piece separately. I believe Metra makes one. You'll also have to get a wire harness too. You can purchase them both from the same website, so that makes things a tad easier! I believe all that info can be found in one of the DIY articles listed around here.

As for rims, check out Tire Rack as they often have the best prices. You can also see how particular wheels will look on your car via their website too!

No worries. It beats buying a set of steelies!

If you get new rims, you can purchase additional tire pressure sensors for each wheel. Otherwise, you'll end up with a little yellow symbol on your speedo cluster...not a big deal though. It won't hurt anything not to have them.

If you do not have digital dual climate control on your car than don't get the metra kit. Nissan makes one that looks 100 times better.

Please don't get the Metra kit for your navi! There is an OEM trim you can get from a website, but i just can't find it right now. someone please help this guy out!

I'm sure the metra kit is good, but it isnt an OEM part, so it has a different feel to it

Totally right. The Metra kit is smooth, but I've heard rumours of a kit that retains the OEM texture. Couldn't find it for the life of me when I was looking though...
