Hi, new here. Need to get to know peoples. I've got a 89' 240sx hatchback. Just acuired it this past April for a hundred clams, and just finished tearing the engine down this past weekend. I'm a beginner at engine modifing, so I'd like to tap you guys' experience.

Problem is this. cylinder walls are worn down in such a way that its not cylidrical anymore ala oval shaped. Question is this. Is the block junked or can I salvage it cheaply like a bastard child until I get an sr20det. All input is appreciated.

Welcome to NICO. Everything you ever wanted to know (plus a few things you dont)can be found here.As long as the longer 'diameter' isnt too big, I think the block can be honed into shape. But wait for the real engine builders' comments.

Football walls just get you alot of blow-by and oil consumption usually.

The cheapest way to fix any KA is to just get another KA.
