Hi all,

Ive been reading on this forum as a guest for a little over a month now, just getting info. Ive always been a KA and SR guy, but with those motors becoming extremely common swaps in the 510 world I decided to look into the CA. I like that its lighter better head design, and has higher rev capablities, but I do have some questions as far as mods go (yes Ive used to search numerous times )

1. Is the CA capable of reliable 500hp with off the self parts? If so what would you recomend? ( Not that I want this much HP is just a question Ive had)

2. The guys with the ca19's and 20's did you go with something like a Tomei kit or was it all seperate parts?

3. Metal headgaskets, who makes a reliable unit thats pretty easy to access. Some companies that come to mind are Nismo ( I know Dee can get these) and Tomei

4. How much HP can the stock transmission hold? Is it interchangable with an SR unit?

Swapping bellhousings will allow you to use the SR and KA housings, RB as well iirc.

RB25 box will hold all you need if you bust a CA.

1. yes you can squeeze 500hp out of a CA18 reliably. you just need a good setup with internals, fuel, turbo (obviously) and tuning.

2. most guys i have seen just used a set of oversized pistons to increase displacement. i havent seen anyone in the US with the Tomei kit.

3. Nismo can be gotten from Dee, like you said. Tomei can be gotten from SPLparts.com, IIRC. They might take 4-6 weeks to get but you can get them fairly easily.

4. I've been wondering this too about the transmission but I honestly dont know the answer.

Anything is possible if you got the bread and a decen tuner.
