Usually a car is a salvage when the insurance company deems that repair costs would exceed the actual value of the car. And for a G35, this is more likely so. Water damage can destroy the interior in ways you won't know until the summer, when the air is warm. I didn't realize this until a summer trip to Venice when those beautiful canals turned into stinking, dank, smelling roadways with sewage traveling down the waterways-- you can't see or smell it in the winters, but once the hot summer air arrives, it's nauseating. Also, water has a nasty habit of being a car's #1 enemy since much of the damage starts in unseen places (car seats, upholstery, carpeting, electrical system, etc.). Hopefully, the damage isn't too bad and a few $$ will do the job.

Enjoy your ride and welcome to one of this forum's deliverer of good news!

So the minor water damage is the only reason for the salvage title? 2004 - Could be 'Hur. Katrina' victim. Definitely a great price as long as you don't discover anything nasty. Post some pics.

minor water damage huh...reminds me of that carfax commercial!

Anytime you buy a salvaged title, you're going to save cash...but, you no longer have any warranty. 03-04 models have some minor (under 1k usually) issues.

I'd do a carfax report on it. 9,000 miles on an 2004 is a red flag for me.

Either the car was never driven or the odometer has been messed with or replaced.

What really matters is you got a smoking deal on a car you love.

Hell ya! 10k for a G!!!

That leaves you with 10-15k that you would of spent on a mint one that you can now spend on mods!!! muhahha

If I were you, unless you can find a shop to do it cheap....I'd spend a weekend, or even a week with a buddy and tear the whole interior out of the car. Bare metal everywhere and try to see where the water line is and if it got high enough to get into the dash. Clean everything as good as you possibly can and either buy some used seats out of a salvage car (upgrade to leather if it already wasn't ) Or buy some pimp racing seats or something (still reasonably comfortable of course) and since it was flood damaged, find out if it was fresh or salt water. You might wanna jack the car up, on a lift is possible, and spray the whole thing down with some clean soap and water and then maybe some type of anti oxidation rinse to prevent and maybe even stop rusting.

Just a few things to consider...

now with the other 10k.....rims/tires....twin turbos and turbo kit!!! and all the bolt-ons you can find
