anyone ever tried using above for replacing strut rod bushing? i of course mean heating the iron piece & chilling the bushing on dry ice. have used this technique numerous times on other aps. but nothing that contained rubber that i can recall. do not have a ?ton press at my disposal & the boys at NAPA are getting cranky now that touron season is in full swing. may give this a try unless a valid reason not to.

Why not just take the rod and new bushing to any automotive repair shop and have them press in/out bushing for a few bucks in no time at all....

Could also look in yellow pages and find a machine shop in your area

Your idea sounds interesting, not sure how easy it would be,as the bushing has a metal collar that slides {presses}into the rod end-tight fit, especially after it has been on there for years in its location subject to constant road spray-not sure you can super heat the rod end while trying to cool the bushing collar at the same time
