You are not going to like my reply but here is my $.02

Why would you accept such a (my opinion) a costly poor deal? What is wrong with the Altima? It is almost a new car.The Altima will take you every place you need to go without losing so much money on the deal. You are upside down on the Altima owing more than the dealer is willing to give you for it. Even if you sold it private it is too soon to get rid of it.

I know how you feel after test driving a new G37 because the same thing happened to me . Driving that G37 is the next best thing to an orgasm.

It took a week or more for me to calm down and do some rational thinking. I decided to save the $$$ and put another 100k miles on my G. New tires, spark plugs, belts, cooling system flush was a hell of a lot cheaper than a new G37.

Save the $$$, fund your 401k & IRA and keep the Altima until it expires.Once it is paid off keep making those payments to yourself so when the Altima does expire you can pay cash for the new GYou'll thank me in 20 years.

When purchasing a vehicle keep the transaction simple. Only negotiate price as if you were paying cash.Once trade ins, financing, leasing enter the picture and negotiations the sales and finance people are going to hose you. Remember they do this every day and you don't.

My advice is to sell the Altima yourself...they seem to screw you on a trade. Check Autotrader and Edmunds to get an accurate price and post up!

I sold my 05 G35 in less than a week with a craigslist and autotrader add.

Also, when you are ready to buy, shoot me an e-mail for VPP info. (search the forums for VPP...it's employee pricing for new cars!)

I agree with Joe.

And, I had more hits via my free Craigslist ad than my CARS.COM ad.However, you get more junk mail with CL as well....but, it's free. Don't use your primary email.....I relisted my CL every Wed and Sat and linked a good amount of photobucket pics.

Good Luck!

I'm going to have to side with telcoman. Cars are too expensive to trade so often. That is what made me decide to stay off the Nissan lot and not even look at a Z. I know I would take a beating on my car. Cars cost to much and depreciate too much. Pay off the Altima, then buy your G.

Believe me. I want a Z bad, but...being that my hubby and I are in our 50's, paying off our house and thinking about retiring put me back into reality.

KBB PP Good Condtion on a fully loaded (EVERYTHING) is $19,645So, you could get out of it IF you sell it yourself.

Trade and roll the $3K neg. equity into the deal? NO I traded my 99 Exploder due to them flipping. THis was my wife's car and she used it to tote my little ones around. Rolled $3K into my 02 Max SE. No regrets! BUT, this was in my mind a no-brainer $$$ loss due to a safety issue with the auto.

Would I do that just for a new car? no.

I almost agree with almost everyone here. I think you should relax. Take a step back, have a beer or four, and think about the situation. I'd love to hop into a new G, but I'm fairly happy with my 04. Plus I just blew $426 on a new set of tires.

True happiness does not come from having the things you want, but truly wanting the things you already have.

Keep the Alti and enjoy it for few more years.

If you get a GT-R, it is beerz and a ride for all of us!

Good choice.

So tell me before you bought the new exhaust you and your wife maxed out your SEP or 401k and IRA's, and the kids college fund right?

Well I was happy wanting my G, and now I have it and even MORE happy having it every day!

Now thats the best "feeling"

I shopped for 1 year.....

Every day I drive it, its like I just got it for the first day

But it was a financially "sane" decision

Food for thought
