Hi all.
Thanks for the reply Tray & 71-521, l see your getting better Paul or are the nurses are boring to talk to about Datto's....? Ha ha ha, Get well matey...! Well here comes the history lesson Folks... Firstly Tray, There is two grill types sold in Oz. The first utes were 1200 series (are like the one top of this page. This a U.S.A. model called NL320, NL means left hand drive model, N means right hand drive models, 320 means one body (Ute) style model, Sedan is 310 model, The Van models U320, Cab chassis models or pickup was call 312 & dual seat or double cab model was called 318?, but has same grill & round blinkers) was sold from 1960 to mid 1964 & the second series (N340?) grill was wider & had different (square-ish) blinkers & was replaced by the 1300 series vehicles in late 1965 & also was taken over by nissan datsun japan from Australian Concessionaires PL to form Datsun Australia PL (The Name was changed to Nissan Australia PL in 1980). This info came from oz datsun dealer parts books that l have & if l remember rightly, there some of the pages are on this site. Paul (71-521) you may remember were they are in 320 section somewhere....? Also there is a photo of my ute somewhere here too, as my other computer has the photos on it & it wont work on the net since it got spiked. My ute colour is yellow with red wheels, originaly was green with factory black wheels (all models was sold had black painted wheels, most where painted silver frost by the dealers), but used as datto dealer & Suzuki motorcycle dealer vehicle for most of it's life with the yellow paint job (1963 to 1992). The paint colours l know about where as: Green, Red, White & Fawn (creamy colour). The girls in Oz like our model of datto because it's "Cute" or "cute little thing". l have been to ute, car shows & swap meets & that is what l get first & then what car is it? You guess l have laugh first & tell them what it is. My mates have been dumb founded has to how many girls have made the comments & love it's cuteness! You are lucky to find one without rust (He may have used fish oil in it) as they were made from recycled metal from all over the world including aussie scrap metal & they Rust..... l still fighting to save mine. l have 7 ute shows ribbons & one international ribbon for my ute! Hope this info is helpful.

& best of luck with repainting her. Keep safe on the road everyone.
