HI FOLKS NEW HERE AND NEW TO THE G35 GAME NEED SOME ADVICE

Not really new to Nissan since I've gone through many car phases like my first car 1991 sentra se-r and then the 2005 spec v sentra models. I've gone through two z32 twin turbos, two z33 de motors, two rx8, one 3rd gen mr2 turbo, yamaha r6 and finally my beloved 2003 Lexus is300, that thing was built like a tank, she will never break down, never gave me a serious problem,but it was time to join the dark side once again. I ended up selling her last night for 7200 dollars. I scored a somewhat high mileage 2005 Infiniti G35x Awd automatic for 4000 dollars cash. She has 150k+ miles clean title. I checked for leaks, checked the bushings, control arms are all good to go. Does have bad tires in the rear, a little crack on the front window. It also came with a Stillen exhaust which I think is the 2nd gen for how quiet that thing sounds. It also rattles and makes squeaky noises. The car needs a major oil change, that oil is really black. This car came from a small dealership and was clearing out inventory, I made a deal with them to pay cash for g35x. I've noticed some flaws, like a lot of the plastic parts like battery covers are missing those little push caps, the engine cover is missing some bolts, power steering fluid is low as s*** and so is the brake fluid. Not sure what the service history this car went through,but I wish Infiniti had a service history search on their website like lexus does.
Anyways I listed some flaws I notice listed below and if anyone can put their 2 cents along with your helpful advice that will be great.




1. The intelligent key doesn't work at all. I have to use the actual key. Not sure if this key fob is broken I put a new battery and still not working. Do I have to get one of those ones on Ebay? If I go the ebay route which one to get? and do I need to take it to inifinti to get the keys cut and program?

2. Left signal doesn't indicate on the clusters,but work on the tail lights,but when I hit the hazard button, both left/right indicators work on the cluster. Could this be a fuse issue?

3. I don't know the service history on this thing, the person who sold to me at the dealer told me they use regular oil,but I'm thinking about switching to synthetic. Is that a good idea? Going from Conventional to syn? Someone told me that's bad.


4. The clock timer is stuck on 10:20, there are two buttons on each side, they are not working when I tap them.

5. The stillen exhaust vibrates and shakes at certain speeds, even makes like a annoying whistling sound. And also this exhaust is a bit quiet, how do i get a much throatier, slight louder w/out causing drone for this exhaust?

6. When rolling up the passenger window from the main switch on the driver side. The windows on the passenger side will roll back down on its own sometimes. Scared me at first.

Similar situation here, just bought my first Infiniti last November, 04 g35x w/118k on it. Didn't come with fobs, but amazon has them for about 10-20 bucks for a pair and are easily programmable. My trunk still won't open and haven't gotten around to checking fuses. Look out for any cracks in the rear sub frame, those squeaks you're hearing, if they come up when driving over bumps they could quite possibly be the suspension links, had alot of mine replaced cuz it was a northern car. Exhaust rattle could be a loose heat shield if the previous owner kept them on with the stillen exhaust, easily removed. As far as the electrical issues with your lights/blinkers, could be fuses, bad grounds, bulbs, or just the little gremlins those models are known to come with, free of charge from the factory of course. The window issues are most likely from a non-calibrated window regulator that was a replacement, look up how to calibrate it online or I'm sure there's a post in this forum somewhere. That's about all I can help you with for now buddy. I get my G Back today and can't wait to drive it again. Goodluck!

And ps. When it's cold my radio turns itself on and off as well as the climate control randomly blasting the a/c, a firm, but not too hard bump on the side usually sets it straight, kinda like with my old ladie.

So a weirdthing happen 2 days ago. Apparently the left signal on the cluster works and so does the driver side passenger windows work
out of the blue after I disconnected the battery and connected it back. So I guess that fixed it.
The rattle was fixed. i took it to a muffler shop paid like 35 bucks, it was the mid pipe hangers it was loose and hitting the other metals that also fixed the squeaking lol.

I took my G to the dealer this morning for a recall on the air bag tensioners. It was a 3 hour job. i also found out
both of my front lower ball joints are shot and my rear shock absorbers are leaking. My tires are old, rear break pads are almost gone and rotors needs to be resurfaced. So this whole thing will cost me 4,125 from the dealer to fix. I'm like screw that lol!
And oh the key fob from the dealer is 219 plus 120 for programming.
Front passenger side windows still goes up and partially down every time I even touch it from the master switch its pretty annoying.
I've looked online all I found was resetting it but not calibrating. I have to take off the door panel or something like that and hit the reset switch. Is that it?

Ok so do you know or does anyone know where I can get a good aftermarket close to OEM quality for lower ball joints for the front and same goes for the rear shock absorbers.

The dealer also found out the keyfob I have is the wrong one for my car, it is for the g35x but its not made for it..something like that.
When you say easily programmable how easy like you can do it yourself? Please elaborate on this
