i passed RI inspection with a 3 inch test pipe and 3 inch HKS hi power...money=whatever you want. Spend 120 on a cat or spend 120 on an inspection up to you buddy.

A cat is a cat. Find yourself the right size cat, and use it. Done deal.

Well if you spend 120 on a cat you only have to do it oncebut if you spend 120 on a inspection, you have to do it every year or soPlus i dont know how the cops are by you but the cops over by me are pretty anal so they like to check modified cars

Well, I don't know about your car, but my S14 has a resonator that looks just like a cat and sits right where a cat would normally sit. Not even the best cop is going to know better.

But... IMHO, you guys living in or around high smog areas like NYC, Phoenix, or especially LA should keep the cat out of common courtesy for the other people in your city.

Not to mention it quiets your car and makes it sound less like crap.

i run a resonated testpipe and it looks like a cat, however i must concur with wulfgang that the odour tends to be strong in rush hour traffic and when its super hot out.no one likes getting headaches from exhaust.
