I bought this car last year coz i am living in japan right now. and all the time i just got a headache on the gas. it gives me only 250km while i put in full tank of gas. got a greddy profecB low boost at 1.1bar and high boost 1.4bar. wanna ask if i can turn it off and wut would happen if i turned it off.

Turn down the boost and ease up on the throttle, you'll save gas... but it wont be as fun. What turbo do you have?

got a HKS GTSS turbine. i didnt built this car by myself. ALL it comes with the when i bought it. just didnt expect that it uses a lot of gas. i am thinking it would be better if i pull out the 4 throttled system.

Well if you go and remove something, it might mess up your tune... the car definitely looks built for the drifting circuits, as expected of most 180s you'll find in Japan. I assume you bought this car far a local national?

turbos actually help with gas mileage if you stay out of boost. A 4cylinder turbocharged engine is actually better than just a 4cylinder. But you just have to stay out of boost and drive like a grandma..what is a 4 throttle system

do you mean 4 throttle system as in you have individual throttle bodys? like your intake manifold is just for holes withs throttles?

So you are saying that an SR20DET would be better on gas than an SR20DE if you drive them the same way?

I really don't think that individual throttle bodies will add to gas consumption.

Your best bet is to turn down the boost, and drive it less agressively. OR .... buy a different car since you are that concerned about gas mileage. Buy a Kei car or something.

well i made a 550 mile trip from norcal to socal on one tank. my solution to gas savings is simple -- cruising speed.

cruising is where most cars are most efficient. if you constantly mash the gas or change throttle, you end up having to keep bringing yourself to speed, and it adds up on gas consumption. check your tire pressures to and make sure to be good to all your fluids. and since you have that turbo and all those mods, try to attempt to keep it at 14.7 +/- 2 AFR (Lambda 1 +/- .002). you'll see the best efficiency that way while still making reasonable power, and definitely less emissions.

exactly..cruising speed is the key..not as hard to save gas as you would think

yes its individual throttling. the acceleration wire is in the centre place of the plenum and are connecting with the connection rof of each throttle. just like a huge over hood mount supercharged intake throttle.

Made by Ikeya Formula in Japan. try to look for it in yahoo.com and search Ikeya formula.

i read an article about the 4 throttling of SR20 and it says equal amount of air could sucked into the cylinder and could be 30-40hp up.
