So I keep going back and forth on this whole hho deal(hydrogen/oxygen fuel supplement). It seemed reasonable, then I worried that it was a scam but I have been reading about it again and I am leaning towards it being legit.

First I found a guy running it on his SR swapped S13 and he give instructions on making the cell at his site FOR FREE, you give him your name and email and he gives you a link to the vid. He says he went from...I wanna say 28mpg up to 41mpg Hwy.

SR S13:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1_8C4ft0IXImore detail:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...latedhis site(free vid form is on this page):http://www.hydrohybrids.net/

Then I found that the Honea Path California Police Dept. is using essentially the same stuff on there fleet...and they claim mileage improvements.

What do you guys think? Of course there is tons more info out there, these are just the highlights of the evening. I plan to build a a nicer version of the one on that SR once I get done with the overload of work I have on my car right now. As far as I recall everyone who has installed one of these has claimed anywhere from moderate to extreme mileage improvements; aside from one guy who said it just acted like nitrous and another who said his blew up...(I might install a pressure relief valve).

You can't get energy from nothing. It takes more energy to break the water molecule into hydrogen and oxygen then you can recover from burning it. And since your car is only about 30% efficient in getting the energy out of the fuel (most of it is lost to heat, friction, ect) this can't help. Putting an extra load on the electrical system increases drag on the alternator, and decreases your mileage.

I've heard lots of people claiming these work. I have asked to, but never actually seen one that works. I think it's BS, more mileage can be gained by installing a water meth kit, and leaning out the afr.

possibly true but if you have an excess of power available(via a Quest alternator) then it would be a good outlet for it and at least you would get a decent return for it rather than overcharging your battery. I think what we really need to know is how many amps these things draw and what a realistic mpg increase is with one. I plan to buy a clamp meter by the time install one of these devices and I'll let you guys know. I am totally open to it failing, I just think it's worth a shot. I really can't believe the whole energy efficiency spiel until I see numbers that support it.

Yes I know about air-fuel ratios and that you can lean out your fuel and replace the lost cooling power with injected water or methanol(w/ meth also increasing the octane rating). I do believe that if any positive results are to be had from HHO that the would be with proper tuning of fuel maps. Also depending on when the HHO returns to liquid state it might be necessary to supplement it with water or meth. Anywho, I am going to experiment with it. Mainly I wanted to know if anyone here has tried it.
