Just power the headunit and run all new wires for the speakers. At least I would.

Factory power for the radio = Brown, Ground = Black, Lighting = Red/ Yellow. Run new wires to the speakers, it will solve all the problems.

I used the factory wires for power, memory, and ground, and only ran new speaker wires.

I did the same, but if you cannot use the factory harness you can run the new wire from the where the brown wire hooks up at the fuse block. The incoming wire is white/red, this is power after the ignition. Brown is after the fuse and white/red is before the 15 amp fuse.

I highly recommend that you use the stock harness rather than creating a wiring nightmare for your self later.

The memory wire you will have to run to the battery. The ground can be put on any bare metal screw close to the radio. You could redo the harness by finding a four wire male and female plug that will fit together and hooking them up to the power memory and ground wires and running the speakers straight. If you do this cut the brown, black/blue as close to the stock harness as possible. Then put them into the new plug.

Not necessarily. There are continuously live wires at the fuse box. Use any tester to locate the live wire. A tester comprises a 2 wire socket and a bulb. Ground one of the wires and contact the wires on the fuse box with the other with the vehicle off. Once the bulb glows thats a live wire.
