So some of you may know my build if not it's ghetto, just like what I'm about to do. After attempting a wire tuck and never having soldered before, 95% over everything went back in looks good and works for the most part.

Well I think I hear my relay ticking but... my fuel pump wont come on.

So I'm thinking I'll just come off of something that is switched and energize the positive wire going to the pump and skipping the whole relay. I've been fiddling with it for days and I just need it running so I can go to school which starts the 28th. I don't use the accessories position in my car for anything any ways.

So if I had my fuel pump wired to be running from accessories position+ would that be bad? Or is the use of the relay essential?

I plan to hop in, start the car, drive, park it and shut down. I don't have a CD player or even a dome light. Yes I'm that half asss Throw up some red flags and cyber slap me before I blow up my car if you see anything wrong with my idea.

well i havnt checked with 240's but some cars use 12v to prime the system just prior to starting, then drop to 8-9v to run the pump, so wiring your pump to a direct 12v source MAY cause some damage or adverse affects, again not sure on our cars

Dude you're my hero! I had the hardest time putting my question into words.(I <3 your whip in your sig)

My interior is stripped and I used to hear when in the access position the pump would "click"(Turn on) and "buzz" (building pre-ignition pressure) and I could here it shut off after 2-3 seconds of doing so.

That and I didn't know if 240's had that characteristic of 12v pre-pressure and 8-9v running pressure.

It's 12v all the time. What your hearing is the car turning it off when the engine isn't running, it is a safety feature so that if the car ends up in a fire or something, it won't continue to pump fuel. You should pop open the FSM and find the wiring diagram for the pump and make sure everything is connected properly.

Woot Woot, constant 12v is just what I needed to hear. It's good to know, like right now I'm running in side checking my post and running back out to my car, knowing that now will be a last resort if I just can't figure things out. I'm a little in over my head on this one. THANK YOU.

my pump was just acting up the other day. it would prime constantly and not shut off like it should and was even acting worse at one point. what i did is just cut the black ground wire coming out of the relay going to the ecu and ground to metal and any regular old ground. this bypasses all that timer crap.
