New member here, tomorrow will be one week since ive had my new altima coupe or aka a/c, its code red with infiniti spoiler, dealer added some sport edition thing on the window, it has a painted pinstripe which sucks b/c the dealer adds it and tries to sucker u for money which i hate. but im getting it removed tomorrow at a body shop for sixty bucks and debadged with it. Window tinting is thurs and i found someone to get it an illegal precentage, so ill post pics later this week. Still deciding on what size rims and to get and want to get a new grill, along with leds, should be a fun project since its my first new car. ill be reading, learning, and preparing for questions to ask the doc.

You're getting ripped off. You can do it yourself for free. It's only 60 bucks but hey... it should stay in your wallet.

A little heat and it'll come off, same for the decals. Hell, in that Texas heat it'll probably just peel off without a hairdryer or heat gun. Try it.

its painted on...... if it was a decal pinstripe id do it myself, this way i can blame it on someone else. i can debadge myself, i just made them do it for free since they have it. if something goes wrong ill blame it on them, if i do it myself, more money

i feel like i got a good deal, can't haggle off much b/c the 09's, they dont change much and the cars are really popular. slate seems to be the one they have the most of .

yes, it is blazing in texas every summer all summer long... and then some.

so far as your pin stripe goes. It's not painted on. Nissan doesn't paint pin stripes on altimas. I'm 100% sure it's the same plastic stripe that a few of us had on our cars before we removed them with a finger nail and some easy pullin'. If it as painted a bodyshop would be charging more than $60 to remove. It would take more work than you'd think. Also, removing the badges should be done yourself. Nobody is going to be more careful with your car than you regardless of how much you pay them. It's one of the easiest things you can do. Even easier than washing the car or changing the oil.

anyway, welcome to nico and enjoy your stay. Lots of great info. and people on here.

HA!! Hot in TX? Try it here in Iraq...117 yesterday. It's still not even the middle of summer, it's gonna get hotter.

I just used a hard plastic spatula to remove the emblems. Then rubbed with my fingers to get the excess sticky off.
