well i talked with the insurance claim guy, he looked my car over, luckly he sais hes gonna add the value of the sr20 and the value of the coilovers to the car, so it looks like ill have enough to rebuild. since my whole rear end is a 180sx type x, i might as well finish the job, im gonna go out and get the oem type x skirts, the front bumper (with foglights) and for those of u who dont know, the small adapter peices that sit at the bottom of the fenders, which r basicaly like the chuki ones on the s13 just they extend farther to the ground. once i find a rust free shell to buy i should be back on the road in 2 months, still enough time to enjoy summer.

I know its been awhile since I posted, but iv been buisy in the mean time. I refuse to give up on my goal. so with my insurance money i put word out for people to find me a great condition car to take my black ones place, in the mean time i searched everywhere, i was finaly giving up on not wanting to go out of state when my friend called me. One of my friends works for the local dealer auctions, and told me about this mint a** 240 that just got bought, he imediatly went and talked to the dealer that bought it, i then convinced him to wait untill i got out of work, so i could drive up there to look at it, apparently. This guy was young, prob my age or younger. and owned half a dealership, but he wanted to grab the 240 as a shell asaposed to a running car, so when i got up there, i saw it right away.

There it was, the next 240 to add to the chain, it was a 1992 white base motel hatch with 200,000 miles on it, it had roll up windows, no sunroof(which i liked cause i was sick of them wistling when ever i got over 60...), it had a dent in the driver door, and some of the clear in the back was fading, it also had alot of paint been literaly sandblasted off the front, this thing was a mess, i was sorta ready to pass this one on. When i got under the car, to check the condition of it, i was shocked, there wasnt any surface rust anywhere, this thing was Mint. aparently it was brought up here from southern ca, and never saw any winters, that sold it right there, after that i found out about the nice bonuses, the guy let me take it for a drive around the parking lot, and it ripped, i was shocked, for 200,000 ud think this thing was a beater, sure it needed a basic tuneup and a few small things here and there, but nothing major. when i got the rest of the things it needed, it was surprisingly fast.

Ok so i found my new chassie, my other car still had 80-90% of it untouched, so all id have to do is xfer everything over. first thing i wanted to do, was get new plates, my front jdm rps13 plate was done.. i could of ordered new ones, but aparently when you have vanity plates or want to get dif ones, its infinitly cheaper to call them on the phone and order, as aposed to through the dmv. After thinking about it, i didnt want this one to be just like my black 240, each of my cars even though mainly the same parts, were unique in there own way. So I went to the dmv, and found out the plates "180sx" was still available, so i decided, I'm gonna make a 180sx type x! I ordered the plates, there wasnt much i had to buy, i had the whole back end of the 98 type-x, so i figured ill just keep the front as is for now, and worry about the motor and fixing what problems the susspension had left (which have been a pain in the a**). The interior was crap in this car, but that didnt matter, i had a full interior from my black car, plus, i figured id convert it to full power everything, hell even put a whiper on the back.

I wanted to get all my 180 stuff on it right away, so i didnt look as retarded driving a 240sx with 180sx plates, even though i know its not ACTUALY a 180 and the whole lhd rhd thing (i personaly dont give a s*** lol, if it looks like it and runs like it then screw it!) First problem i ran into was the peices where all painted black, 2 of the things had been painted blue before that lol. So i decided to take a risk, and took some paint thinner on a old rag, and scrubbed. To my surprise the paint was coming right off, and even better, all the peices were origionaly white, and show how kept some of the gloss even after the paint thinner and the scuffing etc. Finaly my soon to be 180sx at least half looked like one.

You'll prob notice in a few of those pics, that part of the back was still painted black, i ran out of paint thinner lol, and fixed it the next day. Also the dash board had ALOT of bad cracks, the one from my black one was still mint, so in the mean time i said screw it and put bandaids all over the cracks, I personaly thought it was funny lol. People always ask me about them all puzzled and serious, i tell them everytime it was ment to be a joke, and they always laugh after that, i have no idea why lol.

The rims on the car are ugly in my opinion, i hate em, only thing keeping me from putting my other rims on, is the one torn in half coilover, they would look retarded on the lifted stock susspension. So in the mean time id just wait.

Few weeks later I drove down with some friends to Hot import nights down in scranton p.a. It was pritty good minus the whole; the parking lot had a better car show then the actual show thing.. But in the end i got to listen to some good music, and somehow take home over 100.00 worth of Nos energy drink, the red one was the best lol. On our ride up, we were about 10 mins outside ny, when p.a decided to give us a going away present. Aparently somone hit a deer and left it in the middle of the road and kept going, so coming around a corner our friend who was infront of me hit it head on and lifted halfway off the ground, landing with sparks, carbonfiber, and deer exploding everywhere. I tried to dodge what i could, and from what i could tell nothing on my car got broke, but our friends car wasnt so lucky. We pulled over on the side of the road in the pitch black, and played night time frogger with trucks while we tried to get all the peices of debre everywhere. The deer was tossed to the side, so we didnt have to worry about that, but our friends car was all over, and the worst part was, everytime we would get close to somthing, a truck or car would run it over and all you can do is duck and cover and prey that s*** doesnt hit u. But unlike some pa people, we went back and cleaned everything up, so no one else would get into an accident.

After talking to the police over the phone we were told that if it was still drivable they didnt need a police report, so we slowly drove the rest of the way, thank god this time without any problems. The next day was fun I went outside in the sun and looked at my car in the daylight. The whole front end was covered in deer blood which showed pritty well cause of the white paint, it looked like i went on a killing spree and took out abunch of people, only thing that was broke was my blinker lights, i didnt realy care that much, i had the stock ones left from the black one. So i switched em out, hosed off my car, and that was that.

Well here is where my story starts to pick up again. I decided to go take some new cool pics of my car in cool places, and where better then winding mountain roads.

Again I cant stress enough how much i hate how high this susspension sits, and the rims just kill me.

After that a few more weeks go by, and little to nothing gets done.

So Finaly, we catch up to present. I currently found a full (oem white, so i can put it right on) 180sx type-x front end(the bumper, the blinker lights, and the fender bottom extension things) all it was missing was the fog light things at the bottom, but i could get those later. So right now I have a choice, I either buy this. Or, if I can find a full 98 180 typex front clip, complete with a full sr swap, then I could go in on it with my friend who wants to go sr. Only problem is, I searched and searched, and I couldnt find crap.. If anyone knows anywhere in the north east that has a decent shape front clip, white cause i wanna throw it right on lol, and has a good shape sr20 still in it, please let me know. otherwise I gotta leave my friend hangin and go for the 1st one i found.

As of 2 weeks no matter what, I will have enough to buy the front typex lip for the front bumper and sideskirts. My one friend might have 2 extra coilovers, that way untill i can order a new megan racing one, which fun fact, it takes a month to order 1.. This way i can get rid of those ugly rims. I also decided to sell my slotted rotors and stainless steel break lines, and upgrade to the z32 breaks, that with some new front tires will stop when I want it to stop lol. Ill post more pics when i get more updates. I hope i didnt bore you guys to much with my story!

not at all, we all decided a rebuild would be the best coarse of action to take, I'm upgrading to a top mount t3/t4, and building part of the bottom end. Who knows what could of happend inside cause of the crash, iv lost enough in this project alrdy, so I'd rather play it safe as aposed to rushing and hitting another disappointing wall.

Not a boring story, but you should have taken a picture of the bloody 240 that would have been sweet.

Nice new car though looking better already, and the coils and wheels will make a big difference. Are you going to get the kouki wing for it soon too to match the aero i don't remember if you mentioned that? Did you swap out the dash yet your bandaids sound amusing for the first 24 hours then i'd get tired of seeing them heh. I wish my car was white damnit.. Are you going to take the purple looking tint out too was that already in?

lol I have hated myself ever since that day, for not taking picks of the bloody 240! At the time I just didn't think of it. But as of today I took those retarded rims off, and put the stock se aluminum rims from my black 240 on

But to answer your question about the wing, iv had it since my blue 240, I even have the holes on the hatch for it marked, there r 2 probs though. First is that it's black and won't be as easy to turn white, and second I need to cut the bottom so I can get the bolts up and in for it, I'll have it on soon enough. Same thing with tint, I'm gonna have it redone, but black.

I cannot agree more about the dash, it's more embarrissing then anything now, I was planning on swaping it when I do the full power conversion.

Hey people, quick update.

I just put on my type x wing, personaly i think it looks awsome, unfortunatly, during my early years, when i was learning body work... well lets not get into that, moral of the story, i cant just take some paint thinner and whipe the black paint off and make it white again.. So black it stays. I think it does look cool though.

I also ordered a 180sx type x front end, it should be here about next week, then ill have a mostly 180 lol!

It has one problem spot underneath, but i couldnt care less, the majority of it looks like its in better shape then my current bumper lol, plus as a bonus its already oem white, so i can put it on without painting it. I bought this whole front for 335 bux, that includes fender extension, blinker lights, and the bumper itself, so for that low I dont realy care about a small crack. I plan on getting the front lip for it anyways so it will cover it up.

Now all I realy need is the sideskirts, I'll post another update when I get the front end on, and see how it looks.

Oh, also I need to get the fog lights but thats not a concern right now, I can get those later.

Ok, update time.

I had the front bumper delivered to my work, it was in pritty bad shape, and that crack on the bottom didnt make anything easyer. But for 300 bux I didnt realy care.

I appologize for the low quality pics, unfortunatly the best times to take pics, are also the times when you dont have a camera handy, so my cell phone had to do. All afternoon I swapped out the front bumpers, and fender peices, unfortunatly, i was workin outside, and due to dark, and prior engagments, I had to pack up, so for the time be my front end would look s***ty.

Unfortunatly I ran into a problem with the blinker lights, they didnt send me the harness for em, just the housing, and the chuki blinker bulbs wouldnt fit in it. The chuki harness has 3 wires going to the bulb, where as the zenki had 2, well I have abunch of extra 240 s*** in my basment iv collected over time, so I started rumaging, I found out the light that goes into the side markers was the same size as the 180sx blinker housing. After triming a few things off the end with a utility knife, i got it to fit perfect, only prob is, it had 2 wires, not the 3 on my car. If this had been a pignose then I would of been fine.

When i connected the two green power wires to the one power on the light, and the two grounds; it worked, unfortunatly only when the car was off. While the car was running on the other hand, if i flipped the blinkers on, it basicaly did the 4 ways, but made the lcd screen on my dvd player flash dim to bright, dim to bright, insync with the flashers. Ok how to fix this one, well there are prob legit ways out there, but i was in a hurry, so in the end, i reconnected the chuki stock blinkers, and just spliced the 180 blinkers into them, there for that 3rd wire was connected to what it needed to, but at the same time made my blinkers work without having to modify them to much. After that i knew i couldnt keep the blubs just hanging, so i took the chuki light housings, and put the bulbs in them, then using the nearest thing i could find, electrical taped it to the bumper support, and they worked!

Using armoral on the go whipes, a can of paint thinner, and a towel, I scrubbed the hell out of the front. I got it alot cleaner then it was, but it still had along way to go.

Well this weekend is the Syracuse Nationals, which is a huge classic car show taking place at the new york state fair grounds. Every year hundreds of classic cars come and flood my city, as a result, everyone local that has any kind of car, all goes out, everyone cruises, does crazy s***, and all the cops around the city make bank. So to get ready for this weekend, i worked harder to have my car done. After 2 days of messing around, switching of the front bumper suport with the jdm one, and alot of adjustments, I managed to finaly get the front bumper on correctly. After that I washed the hell out of my car, cleaned more up, and temp patched the crack on the bumper.

Yesterday I called napas paint store, and tracked down what color my nissan was. the paint code was 326 - Super White. So I ordered over the phone 2 sprey cans of it, that they condenced into the cans there, I dont have any other way of painting. so sprey cans are my only choice.

One thing i disliked about my car, is the lack of sideskirts with a front and back lip, so being as how I cant aford them just yet, I decided to use the sideskirts from my black 240 for now, so today after I got out of work, around lunchtime. I did some final touches on cleaning the front. After that I painted the sideskirts, and front end of my car.

While everything dryed I decided to do this update, I still need to mount the sideskirts, wetsand the paint, and do a few other small things. I'll post more on it later.

Car is looking real good im glad you got back into a nice s13 again, those pictures of your last one werent pretty. Looks like the front bumper still needs some work though and is it just the pics or is there a small gap between the rear aero and bumper?

I forgot if you said so but are you planning on painting the spoiler white or just leaving it black? Just need some wheels and coils to finish the look.

lol to be honest i have no idea what rims those r lol, i was gonna throw em on my civic!

But yeah the under spoiler sorta got messed up alittle from the danm tow truck guy when they towed my black 240, so it needs to be fixed alittle, but i plan on painting this whole car a dark nissan oem blueish purp pearl color, i think same as 350z, iv had all the paint and mats for it, iv just been waiting till s*** is where i want it. Other then that, i was thinking of painting the wing blue on the tips and black across middle, but there is alot of small stuff i still need to do, i have 3 out of the 4 of my megan racing coilovers, i just need a chance to order the drivers one, its 250 bux, and takes 1 month to custom order, plus i need new front tires for my rims that were on the black 240. Other then that, here are some more pics i took, it was getting kinda dark out but i liked em anyways.
