so, taking in stride the "learn to do it yourself" comment, i tried to paint my wiper arms the other day. i followed your "intructions" per nopi and removed the center cap then unbolted the nut. i remember you said the arms were connected by "teeth" so i knew id have to pry them off. however, i pulled with almost all body weight and even used a flathead to try to pry them off, but they didnt even budge! i know you said they would be hard to get off, but DAMN! should i just keep pulling? im just afraid ill end up snapping them and then have to pay to get that fixed on top of anything else! also i need your opinions/insight about a few other planned mods...

1) im having a very hard time finding someone who is willing to do "custom" work and install my a-pillar gauges2) i am planning on getting a greddy emanage ultimate which will need to be installed, hoping you could help with that

I would personally try using some penetrating oil on the teeth. Just make sure you don't get any on the glass, paint or trim as it's a petroleum distillate. That should lubricate it enough to get it to come off. Other than that, I have no ideas..

I have done this a few times actually. Kenny gave some sound advice, maybe let the oil soak in for a day or so. I remember them being on there pretty darn good, but not unmanageable. I had to use a flathead to break one side loose and the other was okay with a tug. Do you see any rust at all? You also need to be at the proper angle and its a weird angle and one that's tough to get really good leverage on. Let lubication soak for a bit and then give 'er another go. You can pull pretty darn hard before something breaks......Keep trying bro!

Shouldn't take that long. I'd let it soak for about 30 mins or so. And it is an odd angle. Just keep trying and if you have anymore problems, you know where we are.

Try the penetrating oil as was mentioned above. And don't forget to eat your Wheaties!

I found a write-up on the emanage install. http://www.vqpower.com/images/...n.pdf

so i used wd40 and let it soak in for awhile while a ran some errands then used a bit more when i got back. they popped off ALOT easier than last time! i gave them several coats to make sure the paint wouldnt chip off again any time soon. however, it started raining about 1/2 hr after i sprayed the 2nd coat so after closing the garage door and waiting, and recoating, and waiting, and recoating...etc, they are needless to say not quite dry yet. the extra humidity didnt help either. it wasnt that hard once i got started but i had a thought and im thinking about making a write-up about what i did, just for future reference in case some other newb wants to try their hand at it.

I had the same problem with the arms on my Cavalier. Just took some flat black Krylon and gave it a nice coat and they looked great.

And I was just kidding about the pics. Giving people a hard time is something I do best.
