I take it the black car in your posts is yours...what size wheels and tires are those?

Yes it is :D.

They're 17's with 245/45 17's. They were on the car when I bought it. From my understanding the rims have to be at least 7.5" wide. They :may" be for sale soon, as I bought some others in May.

Thanks, just trying to get a gauge of what to put on mine. What do you plan to replace them with?

I got these, and after recieving them they're more brown, than I thought. IMHO, they may be too dark for a black car, but I won't know for sure until they're on the car.

Either way one set or the other will be up for sale soon (Silver - rims only, darker rims & tires).

I wanted to bid on those. They would be sweet, in a dark gumetal, on a black car.

I have decided I will be looking for some chrome ones, like AZhitman's.

I agree Jeff and recall you wanting to bid, but they went above your budget/limit (IIRC). I thought the same, but upon arrival, they're a little more brown that I had thought. Nothing worng with them, I just think they'd look better on an IPQ or even a gold Q.

What's the specs on those?AND...how do you know if a tire is made to tote the weight of the big Q. I'm currently looking at either 225/40r18 or 235/40r18 Fuzion zri. These are a new tire so the concencious isn't out yet but looks great and bridgestone make a pretty good tire. I wanna make a purchase this week so let me hear how you guys approach a tire purchase.

Youll see the load and speed rating on the side...

Youll want at least 95 load rating...

Near the numbers where it says the size it will have the speed and load rating, so most likely it will be like....

95H or 96W or 97Z etc etc.....

The "brown/bronze" wheels came off of a 01 Q45. The wheels are 17" x 7.5. The tires are 225/55R/17 Bridgestone Turanza.

I think Wes answered the Load Rating question for you. IMHO, you don't want 18's the trade off for the looks doesn't gain you anything anywhere else.

Agreed.. I remember when I was shopping for tires.. You could get some Kumho tires in 17 (245/45) for under $100, cheapest 18 was over 150!

For an extra inch of rubber.. PUH-LEEZ

Have you decided on a rim, that's the most crucial part. New "take-offs" from a Q45 or M45 are some of the most affordable quality rims you'll find. Watch out for the 5 spoke Q45 rims, there was a recall, and it's only valid on the equipped car.

I just realized you have an Ivory (IPQ) Q45. What color are you thinking, Chrome? Black? Alloy? Gunmetal?

The rims will have to meet the load rating as well. Expect a rim meeting the Q's requirements and having the quality to last for years (staying in "round") will cost about $250-$300 a rim.
