hey please help 1993 240sx cant go over 70 without stopping!

Hey there,

I own a 1993 240sx with 82,000 miles. For the last couple of months, when I hit more than 70mph the car begins to stop and does not keep pulling. The car does not shut down and it remains recieving gas if i press it. head: After stopping, the car will go very slow 5-10mph, then maybe with some light driving it will start back up like normal all of a sudden! It feels like something is pulling it back? What can it be?

It sounds like a trans. problem. Is it auto or manual?

Does your car have a cat on it? If so it could be cloging up.

could be clogged fuel filter too, but cat seems like a much more likly canidate. next time this **** happens get out and look at ur cat. If it red hot u need a new one.

hey guys thanks for the help, its a manual...i just bought a new catalytic converter, ill see what my mechanic says about the fuel filter
