hey im gettin ready to pull the dash repair and dye it iv done it on other cars and its a pian..is there any secrets to getting ours out???

haha... no

the dash is barely in there lol... you just undo the 7 bolts around the outside... and the ones that hold the gauge cluster in... and possibly the ones below the cluster? i don't remember if those are actually attached to the dash cause they were gone a long time ago

the hardest part for me was getting the gauge cluster out of the way cause the speedo cable wasn't letting it move... but all in all it was about a 5 minute issue and the dash itself pops right out

oh well heck thanks man!!now i feel stupid for even asking....last one i did was a 91 firebird yeah that wasnt that easy.....but thanks!!oh yeah iv heard for little tiny cracks in it you can use super glue and sand it down..???any thoughts??or ideas on how to fix little cracks??your dash looks super clean only difference is im not gunna smooth the vents and what not just a couple little cracks and a color change..what exactly did you do to your dash it looks good and clean id like to kinda french mine and smooth it all out...if that make since..lol

i used bondo to fix the cracks and stuff and sanded it with a power sander... not to mention i modified the shape a little

i used the duplicolor vinyl and fabric paint to paint it after LOTS of prepping... i sanded it a bit... then cleaned it with dish soap... then cleaned it with a special towel and some M.E.K.... then dishsoap... then M.E.K.... then dishsoap... then M.E.K..... you get the point... the M.E.K. is amazing for prepping...

i work at a body shop so im very familiar with prep work....im just learning how to really paint well and untill im better thats my job!! i should b a bank robber i havnt had finger prints for a year from wet sanding..i didnt think about bondo because i know it can crack thought it might because the dahs has sum flex to it..did you do the intire dahs or just little pieces??

just the pieces that needed it... the hump above tha gauge cluster and around the batt and oil gauges

2 part epoxy glue will fill the cracks and once fully hard can be sanded and will hold and never crack like bondo or filler.
