Hey, so I finally decided to register to the site today. I've come by here every now and then since I purchased my versa in November of 2008. I love that I can usually come here to figure out problems before my dealer, I used the thread about the fuel pump regulator to let the dealer know it needed to be replaced.

Anyway, just dropping by to say hello. So far I haven't really done anything to my car, but I'm always interested in mods. I've currently only done the LED mod for interior lighting. I'm fairly proficient in photoshop, so if you need help let me know.

As for my first question, I've been looking into getting my V tinted. I was curious if anyone had a versa the same color as mine with tint, and if they could show me it and let me know what % they went for. I'm also curious how it's affected their visibility at night. Also, I have minimal experience with car tints, are there any huge differences between metallic and regular?

Here's a few photos I whipped up in photoshop.

Original photo.

35% Tint Estimate

35% Metallic Estimate

Thanks!

Hey what's up? I read your post and you were interested in tint? What are your tint laws in your state? I know some states don't allow any reflection in the tint or have the front windows tinted at all. Metallic tint, I'm not sure but some people say it can interfere with their car electronics, don't quote me on that.

The tint laws in CO, you can tint all the windows low as 27%, that's what I have on all my windows. We're not allowed to have any tint that's metallic, reflective or red color.

The visibility at night is pretty good, the windows are lighter on the interior than on the exterior. So if you're outside the car looking inside, it's dark and if you're inside the car, it's lighter.

My ride, 27% tint all around...

I have 50 in the front and 35 in the back.

Visibility wise the only thing I noticed was that I didn't feel the need to hit the switch on my rearview mirror at night.

Here she is just after I got it done.

I live up in Washington, so i can go as low as 35% on the car. thanks for the pic BlueMango, looks really really good.

Just a few more questionsHow much did that run you? Is there a warranty on it? What about bubbles or spots in the tint?

Thanks once again.

Here's a pic of my V. 35% tint in front, and 20% in the back doors/hatch.$214 w/ taxes, and lifetime warranty. I had it tinted in August with a company that I knew and had my previous car tinted with. The film in my front two doors started peeling a couple months ago. They replaced the film for me a few weeks back for free. I'm glad it came with a lifetime warranty. The tint does help the look of the car The tint doesn't affect me at night. In my previous car I had limo tint in the back windows and it was dark, and made it extremely dark at night. That is why with this car, I didn't go super dark in the back. What I have now though is good at night, doesn't impact it that much. Good luck!

Mine ran about $250 but I wanted to make sure that I went to a reputable shop and that it was done right. Mine did come with a lifetime warranty against bubbles and peeling. The shop I went to did it in a clean room. They also told me that if I ever get pulled over for tinting the front windows I could bring my ticket in and they would remove the tint and redo it in lighter shade. It was worth the extra money for me to know that I don't have any headaches.

I've had it since July of 08 and I haven't had a single problem with it. I'm a super happy customer.
