Mayhem, you have performed some significant mods on your J. How do you like them? Has the car's performance increased? What is your average 0-60 time now? Fuel consumption? Low end torque? Highest speed (you have an after market ECU, right?)?

C'mon, Mayhem. How have your mods affected your J?

sorry i haven't been around vimy, i've been slammed at work lately.I"m not sure about gas mileage improvements right now as my mpg seem to be dipping as my current mechanical problem started and still exists. Although after the complete exhaust change a small improvement was made during road trip cruising. Doesn't seem to help stop and go traffic, but on the highway after a several hundred mile trip I recieved aprox a 1.5mpg increase. I thought that increase was a bit high but it's hard to measure mpg unless you keep pain staking records like Q45tech.Performance: The only two things that have 'seemed' worth while in this department has been the UDP and the ECU. Both were noticeable right off the bat. The exhaust has been more like sounds at this point, but I was uneducated when I first started modifying this car and purchased mufflers and cats. The UDP has been the most trouble some as the super slick surface tends to make squeeking noises on the belts(common problem for almost ALL UDP users). Low end torque is non-existent in this car and I don't think there's a fix for that. That's why I've been looking at the final drive ratio changes or the transmission change that Q45tech suggested. That should help some of the torque at the bottom it does have more useable.Track times: I wish I knew! I've been trying to hit a track all year rather it be the 1/8 or the 1/4. It's either rain, work or something else keeping me from going. Now it's too late in the year to go. I have cruised at 120 and it seemed I could easily hit 130+ but that's to dangerous for me and I'll never go that fast again.

I wish I could tell you more. Take my advice and stick with the UDP and the ECU as the first changes for any power improvement. When tracks open again next year I'm going to make note to go for a baseline. AFter that(and assuming I can get a hold of SpeedDoctor and discounts) there's 2-3 things I'm going to do and see how that goes. I guess I could be dumping my money into a different car with a more promising motor, but it must be my love for this car that keeps me going on in search for more.

I would think that you could go 140+ mph with the 4th gear limiter removed. I've gone to ~130 mph several times in my J. It's like butta. I won't do it again until I get my suspension and tires freshened but you've got your J ready to go. You'll have to up the speed rating of your tires. But, dude! you've got to try it. Don't make me trot out this icon: :chicken ;)

man, if you live in the louisville KY area you would know about speeding lately. drivers are jinxed around here. you can't go a mile without seeing floweres on the side of the road. on one particular part of the freeway the concrete is permanently scorched were two teenagers and one father died in a horrible accident. I have to pass that everyday and you can't miss it. The pavement is charcoal black and the side of the road has been lined with flowers for months. It's a reminder to me of my responsibilities as a driver not only to myself but to others innocently driving down the highway. Back in October KY had already broke past it's record highway death toll in over 20 years. That record was set before seatbelts were common!! Imagine the deaths without seatbelts, reinforced frames and airbags.Let's just say I'm one very difficult person to get to race on the street.
