if your talkin power wise, usual bolt ons. cold air intake(CAI), header, exhaust, etc. if you want lots of power then go with a turbocharger.

welcome to nico!

depends on where you get it from. what type of sentra do you have? is it a spec-v, gxe, se, se-r?

i'll be able to give you more information knowing what trim.

Look at the badging on the back, for starters, to find out what you actually have. Then hit up Edmunds.com to find out the specs on your car.

After that, just start browsing this board, reading threads about your car and practically any other car to see what people are talking about. There are FAQs to deal with the lingo and everything. Once you get a feel for what's what, ask specific questions if you need and figure out what you want to get.

it should say what type it is on the trunk of the car in chrome lettering.

i know that vrs makes a cat back setup for sentras. the aluminized 3" cat back is $380 and the stainless steel one is $450.

nismo makes CAI's for the sentra. but i think its only for the spec-v's.(don't quote me on that.)

obx also makes headers for the spec-v which run $225.

okay. you've got a 2.0 liter 145hp inline four cylinder engine. basically u could do what i said earlier. I/H/E(intake,header,exhaust) not a substantial hp gain but you'll notice the difference. or you could go the turbo route. more bang per buck. turbo is probably your best bet.

do what ntn said. go ahead and look around to learn a/b your car so you know what u can do and can't do. many other people will be able to help you out here with any questions. you've got two so far

alot of people with the SE (that i know of) do suspension work for better handling. Coilover kits are the best way to go, stock struts with after market springs is a no no. other than that like the others said, I/H/E

Personally, on my SE I went:

Intake->short shifter->exhaust->suspension->wheels/tires->brakes->turbo/unturbo

If I had to do over, I'd probably have done it in the same order but gotten different wheels/tires and waited to do the turbo setup til I had some extra cash for unforseen issues. The key is to have the suspension/brakes/grip to deal with the power you're going to put down. From the factory the car has a little more handling capability than it does power. I/E isn't enough to upset that, but, knowing I wanted to go turbo, I got a good suspension and brakes in there and for the short time I spent that way it felt very well put together.

uhh....pass emissions? probably not.

it depends on your set up and your local state emission laws. if you eliminate all your cats you will thow a code and your exhaust will stink like whollyhell.

in places like california if you have so much as a catback you get a ticket.

in most states (that have emissions) if your modded up and manage to defeat the sensors from throwing a code and your exhaust dosent reak of rotten eggs you will be ok.

i dont know does it?

check with local state laws or ask someone in the regional sections of this board. I know illinois (where im from) doesnt gripe about mods and California is Notorious for being a no mod state. but i dont know about NC.

NC isn't too strict. My brother lives there and I recall him saying that as long as you have a cat you'll pass.

If you had the mods I have, for instance, you'd be legal everywhere except CA under current laws. A header would simply require that you put in an O2 sim or move the second O2 sensor behind the cat since the precat would be gone.
