there was a rwd Max...it had an L series motor in it..pretty neat cars, but not that easy to find, usually pretty cheap though!

the Corollas can be had cheap if you're willing to fix one out of a Junkyard though...I've got a friend with two of them...little go karts...

if you want something that won't cost a whole hell of a lot, I'd recommend a Z. You can usually get one in decent shape, not perfect...but driveable, for around 5k depending on the model.

currently? zero. I DO have a 200SX that missed being a Datsun by a year....in '85 I believe they were officially all Nissan.

I intend to get an S30 within a few years though.

the 4age is a very overated motor, it's got no power below 4000 rpm, of course I didn't care for the old "R" series engines either

I currently have an 86 MR2 N/A (look for it in the upcoming coverage of the $2006 Challange in Grassroots Motorsports) it handles great but no power, and when i was younger I had Toyota Truck with the 22R and my brother had a celica with the 20R, both were pretty lethargic compared to my 82 stanza that the truck replaced

arent the 22r's from the trucks different from the celicas?...well i think that the 22r from trucks arent interchangable with celicas...short head i think...hahaha i dont know im a noob

yeah...there's a difference in deck height on the trucks.

the 22r isn't remarkable in performance...but damn are they tough and cheap to fix.

4A's are kind've eh...powerless.

the Formula Atlantic motors were badass though...

as for the 200, it only musters 112hp stock.

I'm not sure who's gotten the most out of the CA18ET yet...they can be made to make a little better...but most wanting more power seem to just swap in a better engine, be it an SR or a CA18DET. there's a few KA's and atleast one RB swap too.

I wish we got the FJ20ET here

IMO the s30 is the old Datsun to have. But prices has climbed pretty steadily the last 10 years or so and as you stated, they're hard to find up north

the FJ was infact Nissan's first factory DOHC engine, it predated the D now found in engine codes to indicate it being a dual cam motor.

it was originall intended for use in the F1 racing series but turbochargers were outlawed during it's development so it found it's way onto the streets in 2 generations of Silvias and Skylines.

I'm wanting to say both made it to Europe....and possibly Australia.

the FJ24 is a super rare however due to it only being made a few years if that.

Thankfully, we've got members here with WAY more information than I've got.

they're a bit heavier than the Z's...but still neat.

5 speed I assume, as always, rust is an issue on it, especially up there.

some of the alte 74.5 260Z's were injected, and all the 75-78 280Z's were injected, and they did get pretty heavy, the 280ZX, had power windows, locks, steering, and 4 wheel disk brakes, and a stiffer chassis, they gained a lot of features with the little added weight

yeah, it was a slightly bigger one.

me thinks the rear suspension was different as well....I honestly can't remember now...I don't think the S30 used leafsprings in the rear...but I really can't remember...crap!

thankfully, I KNOW someone will be able to correct me shortly.
