It would be my first car. Are there any common problems with this car that i should know about?

Hi Dan, welcome aboard!

Well, I'll wait for the Z experts to chime in. It's not a super-easy car to work on, but then again, it's a car with relatively common parts, and with only 60K miles, it's probably got a lot of life left. The fact that it's a manual makes it all the better.

One way or the other, you'll find a TON of help here, and we can walk you through pretty much any problems that come up, so I'd say GO for it!

TT swap on a Z32 necessitates a motor swap, from what I know.

You could always boost the NA motor, but you're getting into huge expense and fabrication, neither of which I think you're probably ready for.

Having a Z32 as your first car should be plenty cool enough for now.

Welcome to NICO!

Hope you find yourself in a Z car very soon. Nothing like owning a Z32

Feel free to browse through the 300ZX forum as there's a ton of good info in here.

if it's got 60k miles if the timing belt hasn't been done plan on spending some money up front, it's cheap insurance

Welcome aboard! My 1990 N/A was my first car/Z also. I am sure you will enjoy it as much as I did. If you really want boost, then dropping the TT engine in it will be your best bet. Also, Z1motorsports.com is probably one of the best sites I could find for Z upgrades. Good luck with the purchase!

A 300zx would be a fast first car turbo or no. If the car is well taken care of, it would be a great find. It is a tight squeeze under the hood, and oem parts sometimes can be costly. For a 2 seater, 222hp, rear wheel drive car that can handle a curve, there's no better car. Like he said, timing belt at 60-80k, fuel injectors at 100k (those are $8-$900) What car doesn't need some love after 17 years. Good luck.
