ok, so im changing my friends 92 240 transmission out ( its a auto) he really F things up with the one thats in the car. it doesnt engage in any gears. i just pulled it out last week, ( engine & transmission) and i recently picked up at auto transmission from a 95-98 model 240. im havning trouble figuring out why the torque converter is welded to the flywheel on the 92? is that even suppose to be like that? cause yeah mann.. its welded in that ishhh.. but the 95 transmission i got, the torque converter is seperate. no signs of welding.

i dont know what to do :S

any input would be greatly appricated.

( and yes.. i did use the search button. nothing on this topic)

thanks

nvm. i got it. theres four bots on the back side of the flywheel.

does anyone have any techniques on how to hold the flywheel so i can crank the bolts off?

i need to change my main seal as well. but the flywheel keeps on turning.

anyone. anything?

Have a friend hold it in place while you loosen the bolts. If you're friendless, wedge a screwdriver or simiar object in one of the holes to prevent the flywheel from turning. If that doesnt work, well idfk.

Also, i'm sure you already know but make sure to de-torque them in the right order so you don't warp the flywheel.

Put a big socket wrench on the main crank bolt in front and either have someone hold it or jam it.

yeah, thats what i ended up doing.

27mm socket on the font ( main seal) have a buddy hold it. and it should be all good from there.
