hey, i got tired of searching for a turbo 240sx, cause everything out there just seemed to be problems. im deciding to turbo my sohc, just to get a touch on turbo charged cars.

im on a bit of a buget.

but heres what i have done soo far.( i just started this project)

i pulled the engine and transmission.

the car hasnt had a rebuild. so its a bit leaky.it has about 170,000 miles.im going to rebuild the engine. but what do i need to mainly rebuild??

i have a tc-05 turbo from a mitshibishi car.

for the exhaust manifold, im going to custom weld the stock manifold to the turbo. ( save me alots of money)

what do you guys think?

what else do i need?im on a tight buget.

( i know its costly for turboing a car. but i got 3 of these tc-05 turbos laying around the shop.and the stock exhaust manifold being welded for free sooo since im not spending money on those things. i got money going to the other material needed.

what else is needed?

Isint a mitsu tc05 turbo off a starion?

Well since you said you are on a budget, You will need -

catback exhaustgut the cat convertorCustom downpipe madewalbro 255 fuel pumpa side mount or front mount intercoolerblow off valve or a stock recirc valve from a SRintake setup a FMU or a apexi safc 2 with some injectors off a FC rx7oil line kitBoost gaugestage 1 clutch from a reputable companywideband 02 sensor or borrow one from a friend to tune

Wont put down super big numbers but it will get you going for cheap. Also you dont need a super expensive rebuild kit for the power you will be making IMO. How much you looking to spend on the engine rebuild?

Personally id wait and save up for some beefy parts or a nice swap. Do it right the first time and take your time to do it. Me and all my friends have learned from all our mistakes and cost us a lot of money and more time to fix our problems haha.

Just do a FMU setup, run about 8 psi of boost, base timing retard of 2-3 degrees and have fun.

this is what im doing.i got some expert advice from wyatt. ( thanks G)

-FMU ( what ratio should i be running??) does anyone know?-walbro 255 fuel pump for the turbo manifold im doing this :

zer...age=2

im using the intercooler from a sr20det (side mount)

should i rebuild the engine? its stock with 170,000 miles.

-im going to make a custom downpipe.

-also i got a mitshu tco5 turbo, capable of 225-275hp.-using stock injectors-getting oil lines. and a flage for the turbo.

this is going to be my set up.im hoping to get around 220hp

what if i upgrade my injectors?what else would i need?

You want this.

I think you should do this instead.

(idk i didnt search long :D)

Seriously though, man all the information has been covered time and time again. Do some searching, read the post 3rd down from the top of this page called KA-T INFO. Everything is there.

Retarding base timing is as simple as loosening the two distributor bolts and with a timing light rotating the distributor to about 17 degrees BTDC. Marks are on the pulley, writeup on how to do dizzy timing is in the tech pages.

You wont need upgraded injectors if you run a FMU. I see dudes run 8:1 or 10:1 fmu, as for which ratio to get im not sure. You can find them on ebay for under 100 shipped from companies like blox or obx.
