Hey y'all. After lurking around this forum for info and research for my build I figured I'd introduce myself.

I'm Reiss. I'm a Hobart Technician by trade and too many things by hobby, one of them being an old Japanese car enthusiast.

This is my 1985 Nissan 720. Picked it up for $600 and good old California charged me $740 just to let them know that I now own it. Put a webber on it and drive the f*** out it until I blew I piston out of the side of it. I actually already had a motor to swap into it, i just needed a reason to do it.

Fast forward through a year of procrastination and I'm making some good head way on Ka24e-t seapping dis bishop. I'll try to keep the build posted as much as I can. For now this was her in her previous glory. Man I love this truck

Welcome aboard!

Several 720 enthusiasts here, including myself.. one of our staffers autocrossed one for several years.

Keep us posted - a KA-T in a 720 sounds like a hoot!

Welcome aboard! $740 for registration sounds a little extreme. Is that just all California, or was there some kind of special reason yours was so high?

Theres still a lot to be done before the engine swap is done. I still need to paint the engine bay, run nee copper nickel brake line, test fit the engine, build the intercooler plumbing, build a removable front core, rebuild and install my z32 calipers, rebuild my wheels, merge the wiring harness's, figure out what to do about ECU tuning,...and then what ever else comes out

Nice. Looks like you have some ways to go still. Post more pics once you are done.

What size turbo do you recommend?

Most people I've talked to or engines I've personally seen used a T28 or a T3, ballbearing (of course). I'm not actually the best with turbo nomenclature outside of Garrett designations, so take that as it is.

To be honest im.not even sure how to label turbos. I'm using a t3 flange with a turbine a/r of .63 and a compressor a/r of .50. I think it may look bigger than what its actually capable of, but my goal is a reliable 260hp, for now. Once I build my other block, I'll be building something closer to 450hp. I just want it to work for now.
