Hey everybody! This is my first post in these forums. I currently drive a 1999 Ford Zx2, with the bolt ons like header, exhaust, intake etc. Hence the name 1QuickEscort. Anyway the reason I'm here, is because this spring, I'm looking to pick up a 240sx, then swapping either a SR20 or a CA18, haven't decided yet. My friend, Goodbar6 had a 240sx, and it was a really cool car, strong transmission and motor, RWD, good handler, good looks etc. This is a better route to go with a project car I decided, then putting more money in the Zx2, with a transmission that is horribly weak. (1 turbo Zx2 has already gone through about 5 trannies) It will be easier to get a high power level with the 240, and the RWD is a major plus over FWD, as you all know :) Anyways, I hope I can learn from and contribute to this board. Later, MikePS If anyone has any questions about Zx2s, I can answer them for you ;)

He really likes it. I've seen it, and it is really clean. It will be really nice when he get the new engine for it.

240sx don't have the strongest trannys either...our like to have weak synchros that grind at high rpm's or just don't let you go into gear at all-

I test drove a ZX2 after my 'Scort GT got run over..... WOW was I let down.. even the salesman said I wouldn't like the performance compared to the 95 GT. I hope those bolt-ons got it up and going.... I've seen a couple built ZX2's, they had to spend A LOT to get them fast though. Not to mention the sloppy suspension and handling.. you should LOVE the 240sx in comparison.... I don't even know why I looked at the Ford to begin with.... I luckily stumbled onto my 240 at a HONDA dealer, of all places! :rolleyes

the whole transmission thing....the gears are synchronized and over time ..usually starts with third gear..you'll hear a slight grind going in the gear...it just gets worst(mine is doing it in second and third at high rpm's)...it's get to where you either have to go in at low rpm's..or rip it through the gear...i'm still waiting to see if paul mates up a 300zx transmission to the ka24 transmission bellhousing...that seems like the best thing ebcause there is no use in me buying another ka24 transmission if it's just gonna get worn out just as easy-

I have a ZX2 right now, I should be soon getting a 240, cause I can't afford my ZX2..........

My ZX2 is pretty fast, I have normal bolt-ons too, ie header, intake, pully, and a chip. Mid 15's was all I can get out of it though. Still quick. I can't wait to find a 240 though. I want to do an S15 conversion with an SR20 motor.........lots of plans and no car........grrrrr lol
