hey i bought a 240sx umm but it has alittle rott look and help

hey i just bought a 240 sx for 300$ it has rims good running engine and a system and all that good stuff but i looked it over and the only rust it has is on the frame by the left wheel look at it and tell me what u think?

i was thinking if i cut out the rust and stop it and then take like a 1/2 inch plate and weld it from inside and outside so it will have more support a good idea or junk the car?

sounds like a good idea. rust is fairly difficult to remove but you will be glad you did it.

make sure you check all over the car, if there is that much rust in one place, there will probobly be a considerable ammount in other spots

yeah, and you can weld all day on two pounds of flux core wire. that flux core stuff works wonders on rusty metal. i would just clean it up as good as you can and go to town with the welder. also you can weld up your body seams and pinch welds. i would reccomend lots of stiffening in the front strut tower to a pillar area as that is the single weakest area on a s13.

hey so i was going to look over the 240 and when i went to jack up the car by the frame, the whole frame broke into 2 pieaces(il get pics on when i come home) so i sold it for 300 and thats all
