Hows it going guys? tomorrow i will be picking up my second car/truck which would be a 1999.5 pathfinder.

I have a couple of questions.

Personal prefrence..i hate 2 piece headlights lol, are the Qx4 headlights swapable??? Or will there be an un even cut/ gap ?

As well as the climate control, i really hate the old analog look, is it just a plug and play swap for the digital climate control, or do i have to go through a whole setup due to sensors and such?

Other then that and switching over my system from now my project car..i think thats all i will be doing this year.

The specs on this truck is a 3.3L 80k+ 1999.5 Pathfinder SE.

im going to do some more research..but maybe i should just ask anyway, what is the biggest tire i can put on stock? im thinking maybe a 1" lift..but then again i heard thats not good for the 4wd?

Other then that..i believe the timing belt is due in about 20k miles? (100k?)

Opening up the exhaust , would that free up a lot of ponies? Well im not saying 20hp..but you know 5-7hp?

Im also watching all these you tube videos of people taking there stock pathfinders through mudd and small puddles/lakes, covering the whole wheel well and they make it through so perfect? Theres no need for a snorkel????

Im so confused...what are the capabilities of this truck stock, what can i cannot due? (Offroad wise)

Thanks for any help sorry i know this is probably all answered and i feel like a total newb since im not new to forums..lol.

Well thank you for any help!

First of all, congrats!

As for the headlights, they are swappable but it would take so much work it wouldn't really be worth it. As I understand it, you would need to do a whole qx4 front end conversion to make it work.

I'm thinking you can fit 31" tires but you'll have rubbing. If you lift it you can def fit 31s.You can do a 2" lift, but any much more than that and you'll have problems with your CV joints unless you get manual locking hubs.

As for the water level... any higher than mid-level headlights and you're gonna be in trouble.

congrats man,

these trucks are very formidable offroad. with the right tires that is. if it has stock like all seasons on it, you can get into trouble kind of quick. I'd suggest a set of BFG All terrains, or something similar if you plan to hit some trails, or some mud tires if you plan on going through some crazy stuff.

There isn't much out there for power adders, well not yet. I'm developing a few parts to help out in that department.Intakes, exhausts will gain a few ponies, but not really anything to get excited about. Again, I'll be building a full mandral bent system in the future, but thats kind of far in the future so if your in this for the long run you'll see it come to light.

most of us will answer any questions you may have, unless they have been beat to death, then we will just give you links.

thanks again!

im definetly in here for the long run, everyone is really friendly and i like that in a forum.

well this brings up a quick question how is this truck in snow with the regular tires it comes with?

also how are these trucks in the reliability department?

this has 80k on it i believe only 2 owners..

is there anything i have to extremely worry about?

i checked the recalls on this truck and it just said for exterior lighting and something for the fuel pump i believe..

if i keep up with maintence is there anything else i should be particularly worried about?

thank you all again for answering my questions, sorry im being a pain lol
