What's the build date on the sticker behind the driver's door on your older Q? Mine is Nov 89 and I'm curious if your's is earlier, as there appear to be a lot of changes made between Oct and Nov builds that year-at least according to my parts fiche. It would be fun to compare them side by side, you ever visit CA?

"Q1" was built in 11/89 as well... I don't remember "Q2's" build date, but it seems like 3/90. My VIN ends in 3156, so if yours is close, maybe they were painted out of the same can of paint or have leather from the same cow!

I've only been to CA once, and that was to get "Q2" last fall. Flew in to San Jose, stayed with some friends for a few days, checked out the car at the guy's office between San Jose and San Fran... Redwood City maybe? Same exit as an aviation museum. Then shipped her back to SC.

When I took Q1 to T3 about a year ago, Dennis commented on the fact that he could tell some differences between it and later 90 models - mostly in the sheetmetal finishing under the hood around the cowl area. He said it looked like they did some hand adjustments or fine tuning that didn't take place later...What sort of rolling changes do you see on the parts fiche?

You were about 150 miles north of us. The latest part I checked out that showed a change was the surround for the console shifter. I've run into quite a few parts that specify 8/89-10/89, be interesting to know how many cars that was and why they changed things on that short a run. Have a great Xmas!
