Pros. Small / light / fairly cheap and for the most parts are plentiful specially stock ones.

Cons. Underpowered stock but then agian how many cars really have ENOUGH power? Subject to drift tax depending on who and where you get parts from.

Personally i prefer the s13's imo they look the best and can be found pretty cheap.

O-H..!!

I drive an S14, but I think i can help you a bit.

Pros: small, light, very maneuverable, parts are readily available, huge aftermarket support, you can put all sorts of different engines into it, from other 4 cylinder nissan motors, to skyline I-6's and LS series GM v8's. You can do other motors but those are the most common and best supported ones. While it is underpowered in stock form, BrianHart will tell you that you don't need a turbo to make the car fast.

Cons: underpowered in stock form, it's a 16+ second car in stock form. It is a light rear wheel drive sporty car, hence almost useless in snow (yes people drive it in snow, but it's just far more work than other cars), getting a lot of power and style out of the car takes some serious cash. Eats rear tires if you drive it hard. S13's rattle a lot, especially once you stiffen the suspension. Drift tax. Although here in Ohio you won't be hit as hard as the cali boys, people sell these cars and parts for them for far more money than you would pay to upgrade the same part on an American car or even a Honda.

The pros and cons are up to you man personally I love the s13 they are stylish cheap and if you just put a little work into them they are as reliable as any car and get reasonably good mileage for they're age I have been using mine as daily for a while and it has never let me down and granted the s13 does make a little more noise going down the road but if you clean up the seals and maybe add some sound deadning (if you really want zero noise) but other than that you should have no problem. The one thing I say to do is take your time and really look it over before you buy I bought a real pos my first time around for $1000 then sold that and bought a near mint one for 650 (the one in my sig) so they are out there you just need to look for them.
