Hey guys, new to the forum and About to by myself a G35 but one question?

Hey ya'll

I mad my final decision that i am going to buy myself a 07' G35. I fell in love with car, i actually haven't driven a g35 but its brother the 350z in automatic only. Only reason for not getting the 350z is no backseat.

My question is how come the 350z produces 306 hp in the automatic and manual trans. But rather not for the g35 the g35 produces what.. 295hp in the 6mt and 280 give or take on the automatic. Why is that? I want most out of the performance, and i don;t mind driving manual at all. But i am just curious. Since i only drove the 350z in auto will i feel any strong, noticeable distance in power compared to the 07' g35 auto. Lastly why is the g35 in manual faster then the auto, i might just get a manual. This is where i'm lost.

Any suggestions?

the 2007 G35 *is* 306hp.

Manual transmissions aren't really "faster", but the will generally win races. Automatic transmissions will always have a certain degree of throttle lag compared to manuals, and rarely do they shift as quickly or as aggressively as a human is capable of.

So only the sedans have 306hp and the coupes are 293hp in manual?

If i get the g35 in automatic will it feel just as fast as the 350z in auto even lackin the 20 hp

ok Yes the 07 sedan is 306 hp same as the 350z. The 2007 coupe have the older engine with less hp. The new coupe(2008 will be called G37) will come out next month with 330hp.
