Hey guys.....what's up?? this site looks sweet and looks like you guys have some pretty good deals sometimes. Ok....about me.....I live in kentucky and I'm gettin a 95 or 96 240sx next month....hopefully bone stock and an SE model and def. 5speed. I would get a 97 or 98 but I have a limited budget....aka poor high school student haha.....but anyways...I have around $800 to spend on my car when I get it....SO....what do you guys think is better? Do the Eibach/tokico lowering kit or a carbon fiber hood/ Injen Intake? I'm pobably goin with the CF hoof and intake. I'll just go ahead and do the lowering kit next summer when I have money. hehe....BUT.....who knows website with the cheapest deals on grade A CF hoods and eibach/tokico susapension. I can get a susapeniosn kit (eibach/tokico) for 577 shipped. Anybody kow cheaper? hehe.....well thanx guys and great site!!! AND BTW......thanx to JDM for giving me this site! I'll def. have a nice stay!

I'd get some lowering springs and an exhaust.

Welcome!

I would do what you want to do..seems like your mind is set so just go for it.

one thing is you will get many different opinions on what to do to YOUR car... it's yours, so go with what you want to do with it!

you won't go wrong with that!!

enjoy your time here!!!

I would get the suspension and do a tuneup. Definitely go for the eibach/tokico, it won't look as cool as the CF hood, but 240's have great lines anyways, and you'll appreciate the suspension more, and longer, than you will the CF hood most likely. Enjoy your day!

Why wait? Jackstands, a jack, some hand tools and a spring compressor and you could have everything in and out in a few hours. : ) If you need a walk-through I'd be happy to help or I'm sure there dozens of people around who could help you out. I would very much go the suspension route, and after your tune up if you have some spare money, you may wish to look into tires, or you could go from mild to wild and get a full line of bushings the complete your suspension package - but after all of that you can't neglect the benefit of having proper tires. : ) Good Luck and Enjoy your day!

Also, Racin, we have a lot of spare parts from broken KA24E's sitting here if you'd like me to send you a camshaft and one of the stock clutches we've pulled that will get you around if you don't have the money for a new one... Let me know. See ya later!

Suspension definately. If you're gonna do it, do it well. Wishing I had went with AGXs instead of GR-2s a couple years ago, but know its time for new ones and AGXs are gonna be comin (after manual swap, that is).

And Daunt, if you got anything for free send it to me.:D

Anything that I could sell for $ to get my manual swap done, Turbo parts, and paint job/bodywork. Or you could just send me money/winning lotto ticket. Would like to have all that done by the convention to show off- oh that's in 8 days.

But thanks for that consideration.

New guy - Alex at Southwest Autoworks can do the Eibach/Tokico setup for less $$$ than that. He's one of our advertisers - Check it out!

Well, 800 isnt enough to extract any real performance gains out of the engine (with the exception of nitrous which I'm not a huge fan of). So in light of that fact, put it where you will use it the most: suspension and tires. It's my opinion that you dont really need new wheels or anything, just get properly sized STICKY tires on your stock rims (Toyo makes the perfect sizes and have tons of grip) and redo the suspension with new struts and springs. Yes, this will go over your 800 dollar budget but it beats the heck out of a carbon fiber hood that looks goofy (imo) and an intake that really does nothing more than make a cool noise (yes, it IS kinda a cool noise but not THAT cool :)).

haha guys........looks like I'll do the suspension first....and you say you can get the eibach/tokico setup for cheaper?? Anybody have this setup...an complaints about it?? AND....hopefully I'll get a hold of a spring compressor from one of my friends if they have one....that would be great....itll be like I got my car lowered for 577 bux. hehe. AND STEP BY STEP processes to lower my car will be much apprecciated. AND...about the tires...if I get new tires...I def. need new rims...just can't roll on stock....haha....lightweight 17's should be a great choice for me....maybe black or gunmetal with a polished lip. SO when I save up $$ next summer...I'll get the CF hood, intake, and rims. I am really excited about my 240 and I'm gonna take things easy and slow with it....remember I am a broke high school student with no time...haha. thanks for your replies guys!

Sounds good. Is your car black, mine is and I've got anthracite wheels with a polished lip and it looks great and I haven't seen many other cars with anything like them. 17's also a perfect choice for our cars, my opinion.

800 buck, eh Tommy? Man, forget the car! If I had 800 bucks, I would go to Meijer, but all their toilet paper and then return it 4 hours later. "Umm ahhh, I need to return this, I got the wrong kind." Or I would just go to PT's and end up face down in a ditch later, piss drunk and left for dead. Man, you have your whole life ahead of you man, I am sure $800 will get you up and going.

I like the piss drunk ideal.

Suspension. Carbon fiber anything, would be the absolute last thing I did to a car.
