Well I rebuilt my motor with new rings, bearings and headgasket...It was running good, so I decided to drive it somewhere and it blew the top water hose in two pieces. I started to hear the valves make noise and I look at the temperature and it was normal. I pulled over and the car stalled.
I let the car cool down put some more water in it and got it to start and water was coming out of my exhuast ... So I knew the headgasket was broken. I took apart today too look at the headgasket and cylinder number 4 was very deformed and the water jackets were burned a little..
Before I took the motor apart to do the rebuild, the headgasket was also messed up, but not this bad... It would run good and everything but it wouldn't throw that much water into the cylinders. But the gasket was broken almost the same exact way. But im sure that one broke because it was boosted to like 15lbs by accident.
This time always driving the car slowly to break in the rings and the bearings.
We'll I have my autometer gauge hooked up to the factory nissan sensor (im guessing i shouldn't have done this). Do you think maybe the hose just broke and the gauges werent working correctly and I didn't notice and maybe that was the problem....
I know you guys are going to tell me to get a cometic head gasket and some arp studs but I don't have a lot of money at this moment and I just want to get this engine running only for 7lbs for every day driving.. I have another block that is stripped and ready to go. But I don't have a beater to drive for meanwhile so I can make the money to buy the GOOD STUFF... ...
This is what im going to do tommorow, get a nice felpro gasket and get the head decked and put it back together. I have one more question, is there a way to clean out the water passages in the block to make sure nothing is clogged up. I have a weird feeling there is some crap in there, my friend is going to bring his compressor and were going to blow it out, but is that the best way?
Thanks a lot guys for any help....
