Hey guys is $250 shipped a bad price for a non-rusted hatch/trunk??

I need one bad and I've called atleast 20 diff junkyards and only found one, in cali. I'm in Illinois and the guy said no rust and he'd ship it for $250, good deal or bad?

Well, the shipping for something like that has got to be insane, almost certainly over $100 just to ship it....possibly more.

wonder if there's a way to take the glass out of it, to make it cheaper, and weigh less... and then replace it with the glass from your hatch?

still youd have to pay a professional to put the glass back in i think. its something i wouldnt want to try, itd prolly leak like hell. id say its a decent price shipped, i just found one locally for 60 bucks hehehehe

i wouldnt pay that much...most of it is just shipping. id try to find one locally...wait till someone parts theres out closer...or just try to fix the rust

well my problem is, my car goes to the body shop late Sep. and he already has his hands full and said it would be easyer and cheaper if I just found a Hatch instead of trying to fix it( when you lift my factory wing up, theres like two or three half dollar size holes in the hatch) My body man is the best, but it's just him in the shop, no kids running around doing the work for him, which is better!! but the down side is, it's going to take at least 3-4 months to finnish( I have the Jacquemond wide body kit, so he has to mold the rear quarters on + I'm having alot of custom work done to the kit to make it look better!.. the problem with finding a junkyard in illinois is most of the hatches are rusted, the one I found is from cali isn't rusted
