"Best" CAI is debatable and varies according to needs. Here's a good discussion on different intake options for the Max:zerothread?id=230520

As for the IAT, I'm sorry this isn't the best picture, but hopefully it helps give you a better idea:

It's right after the MAF.

Look at your air box (where the filter is located). There should be two wires attached to a sensor on it with two screws holding it in.

That's you IAT sensor. Mine is dangling in inside my home made WAI.

Well it has to be somewhere between the filter and your MAF (Black tube with the wire coming out the top).

There was actually only one made for our cars and the company stopped producing them.

Get a hold of Cattman and see if they still have a Place racing CAI OR if they can get you a pop charger Place Racing combo if you're in Cali.

The other intakes are all Warm Air Intakes.

Also, I prefer the AEM dryflo filters to the k&N style, but someone will be around shortly to argue with me. They are lighter and don't require that nasty oil.

I was told that the Place Racing one was the best BUT you do have to drill a hole into your wheel well from the engine compartment. There should be a tutorial on it in the FAQ.

The JWT Pop Charger has two benefits. 1) It's CARB compliant which only realy applies if you life in California since we have A$$holes telling us that aftermarket intakes are going to cause pollution... 2) It's an easier install.

Both of them should get you around 5 HP. You'll get the HP on the high end with the true CAI from Place Racing. And you'll see it in the lower-mid range with the JWT Pop Charger.

If the temperature stays pretty cold where you're at, I'd probably go with the Pop Charger. Contrary to popular belief, you don't want super cold air into your engine, just cooler air than what's in the engine bay. However, when its below optimal intake temperature (around 76 degrees) then the outside air and engine heat seem to make for a good combo.

If you get really hot summers (90+), I'd go for the Place Racing as the Pop Charger will just kill your gas mileage and your power.

Courtesy Nissan in Richardson, TX (Dallas suburb) endorsesK&N. They had a new brochure out when I went forparts Saturday on the wall next to the custom air intakes and I looked at it. You could probably call them and they wouldsend it to you.

well right now its 22 degrees.. but it can get to 90+ and the peak of the summer.......... i would say its 40-50 in the winter with cold days and a 75-85 during the normal summer day...
