I'm trying to plan the best way to get an SR into my car. I have come to the conclusion that I will not have the time or facilities to do it myself. My job, family obligations and the fact that I still live in this damned apartment prevent me from ripping that single cam out myself.

My question is, where to get the job done? I don't want to travel to hell and back to get a basic SR swap installed. What I DO want is a clean install that is reliable enough to drive every day. That is far more important right now than 400rwhp. I'll stick with the stock intercooler for a while and then get a monster FMIC from Indy Race Cores. I would also like to retain a/c and power steering. Cruise if possible.

Does Unstable Hybrids still do basic SR swaps? Their site says that they aren't accepting that type of thing, but what's the real deal? Heavy Throttle does, but they're way the hell in NY.

Any thoughts/opinions on what I should do? I'm pushing almost 200k on the original engine and it runs well, but I have to work WAY too hard to not be able to keep up with Cold_Zero and his paininmyass WRX.

Please no "Rebuild the KA and go turbo" stuff. I've decided on an SR. Thanks!

repo :)

Repo, have you tried calling around to some local places in your nearest big city that deal in import performance? I found out about quite a few in Dallas that have never been mentioned on the forums but do swaps and seemingly, a good job. Oh, but I really recommend you rebuild the KA and slap...haha, jk :)

Hehe, no I haven't done that yet. I guess I should look right under my nose and try not to make more out of this than it is. There was a place that did them but I heard they were shady and then the partnership split up and blah blah blah.

Do you think it's too much to ask to have power steering, cruise control and a/c?

Repo, I may have the shop for you. They are here in Indy, in I *think* Gasoline Alley. They used to be called Santeca but they broke away from that company and I don't know what they are called now. I am in the process of getting their info from the girlfriend of a guy there. I went to their shop in December and they were in the process of putting an RB into a 95 240 and I saw their beast of an S13 sitting in the shop. That car was awesome! You can see a small picture of their black beauty on http://www.Santeca.com When I get their contact info I will let you know. We should get together sometime so you see my new S14 and I can see yours.

Cool man. I've been by their shop a dozen times and they've never been open. I'd like to try again though. The shop next door is pretty cool too. All racer stuff. http://www.tracksidesupply.com Let me know when you're free.
