What's up everyone... Well, I just brought my '91 S13 home and she's in need of a little TLC, but overall, she's really good-looking. I ended up buying a maroon hatchback LE with a 5-speed (the auto is not even worth it), and, of course, the DE, but the engine's got 168,000 miles on it. I drove the thing 400 miles to bring it home, and, I must say, it ran great! I was absolutely amazed at the torquey mid-range performance and nice high-end, too. My brother has an '89 coupe with the stock E engine and, although it's fast with the SAFC, intake, exhaust, and other various mods, it's nowhere near as quick as this one is (and I've got double the mileage!). I topped it out EASILY four times on the way home... It felt very capable and had much more power left even @ 115. Wow, 5th gear feels great at 100+. Great gas mileage, too. Tell me what you guys think I should do... I've already got the Injen intake installed (yesterday) and I've got the Apex'i N1 coming next weekend. Can't wait!

Hi!Glad you found this site.I know that you will get lots of information out of our 240 people. It sounds like you are going the right direction as far as mods. After the I/E you might want to look as suspension upgrades. They are not cheep but will make driving much more fun.

BTW: we all love to see Nissan/Infiniti photos!*Hint*Hint*

Yeah, give it time...Then time for the motor swap. SR, CA, KA-T RB, whatever you want, they are all better than the KA.

I didn't mention some other mods I had... I just installed some strut bars, did the sleepy eye mod, put in a short shifter (that I would recommend to any of you; it was cheap and feels great) and some clear bumper lights, but BELIEVE ME... I'M GOING FOR FUNCTION, DRIVEABILITY, AND CLEAN APPEARANCE HERE... I don't want to be considered a ricer, but a true driving enthusiast!

I'm thinking that, EVENTUALLY (with the right funds), I will rebuild the KA or buy a low mileage KA and get build it for turbo-charging... But that's years of work with lots of time and money. Anyone know how I can raise some QUICK CASH? (legally, please)

One more thing: I will have the N1 single in a few days, and I'd like to get new struts and springs eventually, (I'm thinking KYB adjustable AGX with Eibach Prokit springs because Sportline will probably be way too low) so do you guys think this setup will cause clearance problems with the exhaust?? I heard this exhaust has problems at STOCK ride height...

i dont think the exhasut should have much of a problem, my friend has the N1 duals, and his ground clearance is fine.

quick way to make money... hrmmm. if anybody knew the answer do you think they would let it out?? ooh idea, if you can put up with rich people whining about how bad life sucks, you can become a counselor. And if your lucky, you could make a few changes in somebody elses life, but thats pushing it.

Who said anything about "anything's better than the KA"? I also love the KA24DE... Mine has an excellent wide powerband, runs well, and breaths much better than stock with the upgrades I mentioned. Everyone always seems to want to get rid of it right away for an SR20DET or an RB series engine. We all have to realize that this engine was ALSO designed and built by our favorite automobile manufacturer, Nissan. Even though it may cost a little more to make a KA really quick than it would to just swap an SR20, I wish people would try it. I'm doing so! Of course, I love the SR20 and RB's, but my friend is planning on an SR for his, so I'm going a different route... ;)
