So far I have posted a rebuild of my 01 black Pathfinder (consisting of body/rust/paint, complete exhaust and complete tune up *including MAF sensor replacement with 01 Maxima unit ordered online) -
yes manual, black, se, and rejuved using the tan interior/steering of an '01 qx4 'victim' of the very recall (irony) I speak of *upon seeing the QX4, I was shocked to see that the whole shock tower collapsed due to the rust - this is a serious matter but Nissan will warranty the repairs and will take off the road if not worthy .... not a 100% but bettet than 0% :bs:

followed up with lift of the rear end with 4x4 rear springs (1-2" lift), new shox and complete (red) 4x4 bushing kit (courtesy of vancouver friend found at the 'other' pathy site)
and Xterra SC 17" stockers with 275 60 17 tires (ZERO rubbing but minus for gas mileage...... 5-10% range loss-but much better looking/feeling)
I have decided to drive it into the ground since I have already addressed all issues other than the frame - this Pahtfinder came from Vancouver to Toronto so I had a head start with rust .......so unless Nissan buys me out for a fair amount, I will just settle for the enforcement piece to be welded on both sides and keep her movin...

heres a few questions if u dont mind............

1 How much would Nissan offer for a restored Pathfinder (plus QX4 upgrades ie leather seats/Wood steering/door panels etc etc) approximately ??

2 How much more life can I expect from the recall repairs with regular maint. ??

3 what would be a fair asking price if sold private (after repairs) ie kijiji??

4 How can I further strengthen the frame ie weld wise - are there any packages out there and who ....???

cheers and thank you for any information

I had my strut tower welded at a bodyshop. Tacked it all together and then welded a plate over the whole thing on the inner side of the engine bay. It's holding up better then i thought it would. And mine was bad, the master pushed up through the hood before i decided it was time to repair.

Nice catch - glad it has worked out - so my objective is to get those pieces welded on by Nissan
it would be a great idea to then take it to a shop for even more welding ..........^^if you dont mind, what was the cost of the work as I need a point of reference ...thanks
